We have a sound little North Carlton cafe here. My mood was pretty buoyant arriving but that changed immediately when I saw a current AFL umpire having a coffee there. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s a hard job but the things my team and I have suffered at this man’s hands. Years of injustice. It hardly bears thinking about. I ordered a large long black to try and steady myself a little. It was an extremely good coffee I’d have to say. Optimal Melbourne standard. Add to that the very charming smile-infused service from two servers and you’ve got a winning combination. It’s a lovely place. I’ll return one day when the umpire isn’t there.

Front of house drinking coffee behind the front counter and decorating cup cakes. Perhaps leave the cupcake decorating to the chefs return them to the back of house if you aren't happy with presentation! and take the coffee out of eye sight to make it look a bit more professional. Considering there were 5 staff members working in the morning and only 3-4 tables in of 1-2 people the customer service was not great. Not once did anyone offer us another drink or come over to check how our meals were... Called me old fashioned but hey! The meals were good and what you would expect. The coffee nice but nothing to write home about.

Visited this cafe for the first time recently. It was a weekday so fairly quiet. They have a good variety on the menu including lunch options. We ordered some coffee but found it a bit weak and not very hot. Food wise we had scrambled eggs, chilli scrambled and corn and zucchini fritters. The scrambled were yum but the toast was unfortunately burnt and cold. The chilli scrambled was tasty but they left the seeds in the chilli so it was overly spicy. The corn fritters were a bit over fried so not as soft as we wanted. Overall the coffee and food needs some improving especially since the dishes were a bit expensive.

Really amazing brunch spot with some quality dishes on the menu. The coconut taro porridge was absolutely delicious. Besides making the porridge purple, the taro flavour was infused wonderfully into porridge making it taste very nice. Rhubarb was quite sour but provided a nice contrast to the dish. The poke bowl was vibrant and packed full of picklely flavours. Salmon was cured to perfection. The nutritious lattes were colourful and tasty. Not the best latte art on them but the cappuccino looked decent. Overall a good experience. Staff made an effort to be friendly and attentive.

We are so disappointed with the food. We have been waiting for 45 mins to have food for group of 4 people and not very busy at the time we came. We should have been advised how long to expect to have the food if that is delay. It would not be cause us the delay and rush to our next appointment. Add on, our food taste very salty. We would say the staffs are friendly. But we don't think that wasting customer time is good thing. This is very disrespectful. We don't think we will come back this coffee shop again with those above.

I'm not sure how others have gone, but for us it took so very long to get our food. I think it was over one and a half hours. The drinks also took a little longer than is typical in other cafes. I know their food is very pretty, but it compairs with brother Alec in Thornbury which, for us, is better quality and a better value. So, I'm sorry if this is a one-off bad day sort-of-thing, but yeah, this is my opinion. Hope to go back and see improvements one day.
