When we arrived we were greeted, upon looking in the book they saw our name was down for a booking but it hadn’t been allocated a table and they were booked . There was 1 table free and gave us that one which I was grateful for because we have travelled a fair way to get there as it was Mother’s Day and my 13 yr old daughter chose and booked. We waited 50 minutes for 2 egg benidicts and 1 burger to arrive which again I understand mothers day is a busy time but 40 minutes into that wait time another staff member came over to us and said we would have to move because someone was due to arrive. By that stage the place had become much less busy and they could have placed the new arriving clients at other tables. I felt like we were imposing and it was embarrassing . The food was good but even when it came out I had to wave down a server to ask for cutlery .When I paid , I found the guy who had asked us to move so rude ! He never once said sorry about the table issue or I hope you enjoyed your meal etc, he didn’t even smile. I walked out pretty bummed with the whole...

We had a booking of 22 on the 28/5 after the Dementia walk. Everyone was really looking forward to getting in for a nice, well deserved breakfast. However as the original scheduled time for the walk had to be postponed, a member of our party had to reschedule to the derision of the owner. We were not cancelling, just rescheduling. We arrived and it was a shambles from the beginning. The staff we grossly understaffed and after a decent time we eventually got coffees. We preceded to order and we were happy to wait a little while as to be empathetic to the situation yet we ended up waiting over 90 minutes, Everyone got their meals sporadically, I was the last who didn't even receive my meal. No apologies, or even letting us know anything was on the way. The staff were set up to fail that day, were not adequately prepared for the situation and the owner was nowhere to be seen for the biggest day for brunch of the week. I was ridiculously annoyed and wouldn't ever recommend anyone...

I have been there a couple of times during the weekend for brunch, and I have to say this place is consistently very good. The menu was quite extensive, with plenty of options for everybody including vegetarians, vegans and potentially food allergies. I have tried different dishes, the avo smash and the one with the mushroom medley were truly delectable, I was blown away by the quality and freshness of the products. Coffee was good, also different options with beetroot and turmeric latte. The staff was very nice and friendly and service was quick, credits to the young lady who was clearly the manager that welcomed us and was looking after everything during the service. I will be back and I totally...

We have a sound little North Carlton cafe here. My mood was pretty buoyant arriving but that changed immediately when I saw a current AFL umpire having a coffee there. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s a hard job but the things my team and I have suffered at this man’s hands. Years of injustice. It hardly bears thinking about. I ordered a large long black to try and steady myself a little. It was an extremely good coffee I’d have to say. Optimal Melbourne standard. Add to that the very charming smile-infused service from two servers and you’ve got a winning combination. It’s a lovely place. I’ll return one day when the umpire isn’t there.

Front of house drinking coffee behind the front counter and decorating cup cakes. Perhaps leave the cupcake decorating to the chefs return them to the back of house if you aren't happy with presentation! and take the coffee out of eye sight to make it look a bit more professional. Considering there were 5 staff members working in the morning and only 3-4 tables in of 1-2 people the customer service was not great. Not once did anyone offer us another drink or come over to check how our meals were... Called me old fashioned but hey! The meals were good and what you would expect. The coffee nice but nothing to write home about.

Visited this cafe for the first time recently. It was a weekday so fairly quiet. They have a good variety on the menu including lunch options. We ordered some coffee but found it a bit weak and not very hot. Food wise we had scrambled eggs, chilli scrambled and corn and zucchini fritters. The scrambled were yum but the toast was unfortunately burnt and cold. The chilli scrambled was tasty but they left the seeds in the chilli so it was overly spicy. The corn fritters were a bit over fried so not as soft as we wanted. Overall the coffee and food needs some improving especially since the dishes were a bit expensive.
