I finally visited for the first time on Friday and I'm not gonna lie I had high expectations after reading the menu online and seeing people's pics (i wish I took pics but I was too excited eating the sandwich) I was BLOWN AWAY! I'm an absolute sandwich snob and I'm not impressed easily but holy moly! To sum up my incoming rant, BIG fan, cannot wait to come back and try other menu items, staff seem lovely and the menu looks vast and exciting. I'm not just impressed that it's vegan but I'm impressed with the QUALITY and FLAVOUR COMBOS on this menu is so above any sandwich place I've had - ever! Is it love? Can you be in love with a sandwich? Yes, I am proof.
I had the 'DAMN CAESAR' the flavours - incredible, fresh dill and the creamy sauce was BOMB. Enoki mushroom battered and the fake bacon- damn - it was real good. The level of flavours happening in this sandwich was everything I wanted and more and the BREAD! Omg it reminded me of turkish bread (my fav kind of bread) and it just paired so well. I had half and left the other half because of appointments I had afterwards. 5 hours later I had it and IT WAS NOT SOGGY!! Soggy bread is my kryptonite so this was another BIG win. The smile on my face when I was eating this was pure love and that's all.
My partner (a meat eater) had the LAMB & FRITES, he asked me if it was real lamb. The flavour on this one was HECTIC, meaty, salty and sweet. Personally I'm fussy when it comes to meat alternatives but this was succulent and so damn tasty I would happily have one everyday if I could. Sometime meat alternatives give me the ick (I'm vegetarian) but this one just SLAPPED so hard I can still feel it. Deep flavours and rich but not sickly.
We shared the chocolate ganache milkshake, which was super tasty, a little on the almost too sweet side for me but still yummy and the first vegan milkshake I've had that's not just milk and syrup (I hope other vegan establishments can take note).
Highest recommendations. Could not recommend enough. I'm a fan girl...
Read moreSo impressed with the quality of the food and the care from the staff.
As a vegan that has recently learnt of an allergy to soy, it has been hard missing out on a lot of food. I put in my order on ubereats that I wasn't sure if the item had soy in it and I was fine to have it swapped out to something else if it did, but when the order arrived, there was a lovely note on my sandwich saying that while they might not always be able to do this in busier times, they specifically made it for me without the soy milk used to crumb the eggplant schnitzel.
I appreciate the thoughtfulness and the extra effort and even though I absolutely will not be expecting this level of accommodation as a general standard, my partner and I will absolutely endeavour to be returning customers.
The food itself was also beautiful and I'm thrilled by how well the hot chips hold up with time.

Read moreRecently stopped by the relatively new Pickles Milk Bar and was instantly taken back by the nostalgia of a traditional Milk Bar.
On offer is a handful of vegan loaded bagels, sangas, savoury pies, potato cakes, loaded fries, dim sims and even a handful of vegan lollies and treats!
They have a handful of bench seats to sit down on, or some milk crates to use to sit on outside, but Pickles is essentially a take-away only location.
I grabbed the Bagel, Hot Chickn Sanga, loaded fries (which used the Birds Eye 'Lamb'), potato cakes, chocolate milk shake and even a cinnamon scroll.
The quirky shopfront screams of nostalgia, and the food does a great job of keeping you completely satisfied - just be mindful that it does get packed at lunchtime on a Saturday (the line was...
