Have just came out of this restaurant mere minutes ago, and me and my party of 7 are so incensed with what's just happened we felt we had to write a review of the joke of an evening we just had.
Having heard beforehand of the quality of the food, we all arrived hungry and excited. We were soon questioning the layout of the restaurant when all 7 of us were put on a table for 4 people which left us very cramped. We were also the table closest to the toilet which left 3 of our party constantly getting bumped into by waiters and other patrons alike.
The food itself was tasty, so respect to the chef as they had done their job however the portions were fairly laughable for the price paid. The wait staff however kept dropping cutlery on the floor, couldn't remember what was in the food they had just served us and one server gave a right foot to my mates birthday present that prime Christiano Ronaldo would of been proud of (not her fault to be honest, refer back to my we were on a tiny table comment from earlier)
If you were to check this place out on social media, you'd be treated to large plates, gloriously covered in mountains of unreal looking food. Every single one of our portions came out on tiny plates. I can't believe I've been catfished by a restaurant, but $120 a head later that's the situation we're finding ourselves in.
And for the cherry on the overpriced birthday cake, the manager had told my friend that there would be a $20 charge for bringing in our own cake and candles to surprise our friend with at the end of the meal. Honest to god we thought he was joking and we all laughed. Wasn't so funny when we saw the bill and he explained to us that it was for "cutting, plating and washing" afterwards. None of us had ever experienced a restaurant that does this before, and considering we we're already paying over $120 each we thought this was highly, highly unnecessary.
So to summarise, advertising is misleading, table we were placed on was cramped, service was below average, food was overpriced and we had to pay $20 to eat our own cake....
Read moreDue to covid our booking was only 1.15hrs booked at 5pm asked to be finished at 6:15pm which was fine. Food and drinks we fantastic. At the time there was only my family of 4, 2 other tables near us Seating 3 adults. Waiter was bloody horrible, after ordering mains I asked him if he prefer us to order dessert as well or after mains, his reply was “let’s see for time” - for business perspective this was poor. So I said no worries. Ended up ordering dessert 30 minutes in my booking. In the last 15 minutes of my booking my 1yr old son came down for stretched, squealed literally 10 seconds and another 5 seconds due to excitement, then the same make waiter came over and ask us to keep our son quite because there were (at that time) 2 other ppl dining. So i stood up and replied back sorry but he wasn’t doing any harm nor misbehaving and actually stopped, he then apologies saying he has 3 kids of his own! I apologised to the ppl next to us if this bother them, both diners said not at all and they said they have 3 kids each of their own and was never ever a issue. I advice the waiter if the restaurant is not family friendly should say that on their website and warn us! He continue to apologise saying did not mean to offended me which is fair enough, but for a booking for 1.15hr and paid 4 course meals with 5 drinks in that time you should be more bloody grateful in this pandemic and appreciate what you f**ing got in 1.15hrs instead of being rude on my husbands birthday when you can see we’re all trying to relax ! Not only we dine out for good food but also great customer service. I would of given 4 stars however the food is not great if you get bad service. You also had no kids menu and not family friendly so take this off on your...
Read moreCame to the northern git and sat in the lovely courtyard with a large group birthday booking. The drinks were lovely, nice variety however slightly on the pricey side.
The appetisers were nice - tasty. Nice to see vegan options on the menu. However the mains were very small, underwhelming and over priced. I had the eggplant “Parma” which was tiny for a main - also questionable whether or not it passes as a Parma as it tasted like slices of eggplant in tinned tomato in a small bowl. Would have been okay if it wasn’t so expensive, $28 is steep for what we got.
My partner and our friend got the veggie gnocchi - one of them got the entree size and the other got the main serve. The portion of the main was tiny, and did not actually have any more pieces of gnocchi than our friends entree serve (I know it’s wanky but we were just so shocked at the non-size difference). For a veggie gnocchi that wasn’t anything special, paying $19 for the entree and an extra $15 for the main serve (the price difference was not communicated to us when we ordered by the way, the main serve price is not listed on the menu) - we felt it was super over priced. When we asked our waiter about the price difference compared to the portion sizes, he didn’t say anything or act on it. When he gave us our bill we had to ask him if he could make the main a bit cheaper - he took $7 off the main although didn’t seem too happy about it.
Wouldn’t eat there again - maybe just some drinks and appetisers (or maybe you have to order a steak to get value for your money, based on the other reviews). Nice place to go for groups...
