I came here with my boyfriend and mum to have lunch. We were greeted by staff that are very welcoming and friendly but sadly our food experience wasn't so great. I ordered the mozzarella cheesesticks and chicken karage which came after 10 mins of waiting. However My boyfriend's dish was almost 45 mins late. After waiting half an hr the lady asked what meat for the loaded gems he wanted then 15 minutes later they asked what sauce and another 10 minutes again another man asked what sauce. We ended up getting a refund for the meal and 3 staff was trying to figure out how to refund us and telling us they are still all in training. I also remember that my mum ordered Pepsi but she was given coke because they ran out. If this is the case they shouldn't put that in the menu. We came at about 12.30 and it wasn't that busy but we noticed the people dining behind us also requested a refund. Wish this place all the best but they really need to step up their game , seems like it's pretty messed up for such a nice aesthetic relax vibe. My chicken Karage also didn't have enough sauce , there was enough sauce for 4 pieces of chicken. Please be generous on the sauce, it's so pricey for something not worth the wait and food experience. Maybe I won't come back here and I won't reccomend it also if...
Read moreSorrento needs more places to eat and drink in a modern setting. We were very excited to try The Ocean Pavillion especially with Teague Ezards Gingergirl menu. Unfortunately in these early stages there were many issues. We first sat in the bar area which was fine for a drink and a bowl of chips and we then moved onto a bar table in the restaurant. The menu was not balance too many steamed bun options and not enough mix of textures and flavours on offer. The food lacked finesse and balance of flavour and the items with meat were tough. The rendang bun was a very poor rendang and the various dumplings were a bit tough. The prices are high so the food can not afford to be poorly executed. The tables are small and don’t allow room for placement of multiple small plates so the staff were placing new dishes on top of dirty plates instead of removing the dirty plates. The service was rushed, the timing was out between food and drink service and we were reminded to be off our table at a certain time when we had just settled in to order, not cool. At this stage I would not return to the restaurant, maybe try a breakfast and as previously mentioned perfectly fine for...
Read moreLet me tell you… Every year we spend a few days in Sorrento and for the last two years we have eaten and enjoyed some cocktails and wine at Pavilion, however this year we went for drinks and some snacks, my friend and I ordered Mojitos, lady at the bar had no idea what a Mojito was, the other bartender had to explain to her and together made the worst Mojitos, they tasted like a bitter lemonade, they added two leaves of mint and a couple of lime wedges. We decided to order snacks, again while ordering as coeliac for a gluten free tacos and she replied we don’t have gluten free even though it was specified on their menu, these bartenders were clueless, we tried Margaritas again sour and too salty!! What happened here are they under new management? Food was poor in quality and taste, we have decided not to return again. People train...
