The Rasoi Sorrento — Restaurant in Melbourne

Avoid online ordering / delivery! Ordered at 5:30pm online via their website. The website advised 1-hour delivery time. At 6:45pm I became a little worried it hadn’t arrived, so called the restaurant directly to find out what the ETA was. After some confusion, was then told over the phone they didn’t have the order, there was a mix up, that it would be 20 minutes. To hold tight. Called back at 7:30pm (2 hours after my original order!) only to be put on hold, then questioned what the order name/address was, more hold time, talking to the kitchen, more confusion, more questions about the order, only to be told again that it hadn’t been started yet!…. That the chef would start it then. 2 hours later. We said forget it!! So so disappointing as the order was for a birthday dinner at home. Never again!! Avoid online ordering via their website! Would even avoid a phone order as they just seemed even more confused over the phone! My order was refunded in full, within 24 hours. But just a rubbish experience! Booked a table in advance and confirmed day before and when we got there they told us it was closed for dining but open for takeaway only. We were angry that they could not let us know as they had our contact details. It was impossible for us to find somewhere else to eat. The kitchen was at the front and looked small and dirty. The sign above the door was “Kebabs”. Very confusing and hard to find the entrance in the first place. Secondly we were turned away when we arrived for our booking. The place is awful. The staff is rude, no customer interaction and behavioral experience it seems like. The food ordered was vegetarian but had shreds of chicken in it and was by mistake eaten by a vegan guy. The chicken was bad to the next extent as i suffered from food poisoning and was nauseous for three days. Pictures are nice no doubt but truly deceiving. All in all, a very bad experience, ruined my christmas holiday stay as i trusted the hotel by the reviews but it seems that their reviews are even paid. When informed about the problem, the staff behaved as if it was our fault and were arguing instead of an alternative. A negative rating if possible but bounded by the google...
