Firstly, rate 5 stars for the service. I have been twice and the tall lady staff with the glasses served us with her professional knowledge. She was so patience to explain all about the menu, the food portions and quickly to ask us for ordering more food when we finished our first order. She cleaned up all the empty plates when we finished so careful . I was so happy with her service. Secondly, me and my family were not happy with the sushi. We had the table for 5 people and we ordered 3 different kinds of the platters, there were sushi and sashimi, sushi rolls platters and sushi nigiri platters but we had to wait 25 mins for one sushi sashimi platter came and we asked other staff for 3 times to get it. The sushi was really awful. The rolls were not equal, we had 8 rolls in the platter but there are too many size, 4 rolls were too big, 2 rolls were medium and 2 were too small. Our nigiri platter didn’t have all the stuff like Inari, Tamago, my daughter loves it and I had to request for the second order. The second sushi and sashimi platter took 15 mins to come with the ugly sushi, the rice out of the seaweed wrap, and only 1 flavour with chicken. The other thing was the loud music from sushi bar, we couldn’t talk to each other because the noise from the Rap music. My daughter fell so headache about that, even the staff came to tell the sushi staff, he turned it down a bit then louder again. While I was waiting for the food to our table, I walked pass the sushi bar and I thought it had been the music bar, not the sushi bar, music too loud and the sushi staff just enjoyed and sang the music. He totally forgot our order. Everything was fine, only about the sushi and my suggestion is, re -train for sushi staff because it is not the only time I have the experience with the sushi at Williamstown. All the best with your staff,I will be back with my...

Average-to-bad food - poor service. Ordered take-away food online.

Food: Worst Japanese food I ever had (including take-away options). Most food is overcooked. The Karaage chicken was the only thing that was somewhat OK. Sushi and battered items all had the same problem: too much of the cover (rice or batter) and not much inside (fish, etc.).

Online order: When ordering for PICK-UP, the online system asked me for a Pickup address. Weird, when you ordered through the webpage of the Williamstown store. You'd think they know their own address - but at least that address was entered into the fields already. Entered my name, kept the location of the restaurant and pressed "Order". Upon ordering, I received a notification: "Thank you for your purchase. We'll notify you when it ships." SHIPS!? That was a few days ago. I still haven't received that "shipping" notification until today. Eventually, I just went into the store to pick up the food after the agreed upon time expired. (Until today, I can still see my order online and it says" We're getting it ready".. LOL)

In-store service: As mentioned, I only ordered food for pick up. Stood there waiting for someone to talk to me. Some of the staff looked at me but walked away again. Not even any indication that someone may come. Not quite sure how long I stood there, but felt like a few minutes. Staff member struggled at first to understand that I wanted to pick up my order. Even showing the confirmation in the "Shopify" app did not help at first. Eventually received the food though. To be fair: The staff member did his best to try to...

One of the worst experiences at any restaurant I've ever been to. We often go to the okami chains since they've opened and have been to the Williamstown one a few times... The food QUALITY has gone so down, I actually got second hand embarrassment

It's as if they got their wholesale ingredients even cheaper because our Dim Sims were squashed; the Croquets have changed to a lower quality deep fried mash potato; the Curry Udon made instant noodles look 5star quality, the noodles incredibly overcooked, the meat was 70% batter and the curry was watered down; I couldn't help but laugh when the prawns came... 4 were served for two people on a large plate and tasted like they bought them pre-cooked... And just when I thought the experience can be saved... Even their ice cream has been opted out for portions in a little plastic cup with a spoon shoved in it.

I'm sad and embarrassed that I once recommended okami to people- not interested in...

This is by far the freshest Japanese cuisine out of 4 Okami restaurants we’ve tried in Melbourne. The sushi & sashimi platter is fresh, and tasty with a generous portion. The staff are very friendly and professional, and they have the robot that delivers food to tables because the restaurant is so long and it actually gets food out to customers very quickly. The mushroom salad and sea wood salad are absolutely delicious and freshest that Ove tasted in the whole of Melbourne. The restaurant location is also 5 star because it’s in the middle of busy Williamstown cafe and restaurant scene. The city views are spectacular and you can take the kids for a pleasant walk through the park and down the pier after dinner. This place is one of my family faves. The price is excellent value for money. All you can eat fresh Japanese with a diverse selection of hot and cold food platters. You will love it as well.

Really fresh food, great service (including the robot waiters - fun for the kids to watch). And the all you can eat options are good value when you consider it includes dessert (drinks are extra). The deep fried taiyaki with ice cream topped off a delicious meal. At $20 for a 7YO and $40 for an adult that’s what you’d easily pay for less food elsewhere and an ice cream afterwards.
