Used to eat here a lot, but I'm not coming back anymore. Don't bother replying trying to offer a solution.

We ordered on the weekend during the day. It wasn't even busy. We were the only ones behind the counter but waited a bit to be served. Finally when we were served, person behind the counter couldn't really answer my questions. "Is this sauce common?", "Do any of the drinks have any caffeine, such as the matcha or hojicha".

After ordering we waited a long time to get our food and I watched but didn't see anyone really ordering.

Then finally we got our food. Truffle fries - cold. Ultimate signature waygu - rice was so sticky and dense. Gave up with using chopsticks and was still difficult with the eco friendly small teaspoons given to us. Egg was sad looking.

For two people, total came to about $76 with the hojicha drink. For this price we...

Prepare to be surprised by how much they charge. Food court meal that costs $40-50 per person lol.

The OMI official website has an order page with different price, but this store play dumb and said they can’t be used there, and then I ordered the exact same food here but there’s a $20+ price difference. When I asked about it, they just said the price increased recently, and the in store menu is the latest price. But when I recalculated the price based on the in store menu, they still charged on average $2/each dish, so still sneakily charge more than what they listed on the menu.

I rarely write bad reviews because businesses are already having a hard time running their business, but this sneaky behaviour should be seriously reported...

Such a nice Japanese restaurant in this huge food court. They udon is very good. Eel very tasty. Their deep fried chicken or seafood are very tasty. The chili crab sauce is the best ever, perfect for any deep fried meat. Ramen also very tasty. Ramen cooked to perfection. Their milk based drink taste really good. Love their hojicha series, this is one of the few places in this shopping center that sell hojicha drink. Staff very friendly. Due to this is food court, the bowl, spoons are in takeaway plastic and wood. I found it hard to use sometimes. Plenty of tables in this food court. Plenty of parking in this major shopping centre. This is on the Coles level and located nearby Coles. Bus also accessible to there too, on the same level...

Another wannabe Japanese restaurant with an extra flare. The only thing nice about their dishes is that they torch the meat/seafood right before serving, which adds a charcoal-like flavor. Unfortunately, none of the flavors are authentic Japanese. The teriyaki sauce on the chicken is the premixed type used at many similar restaurants in Melb, the rice was slightly lumpy and not fluffy despite it being early just before lunchtime, and they used furikake flakes to add flavor to the dish. They put extra effort into the final touches but almost no effort into the actual dish. Not worth the premium price
