One Fish Two Fish — Restaurant in Melbourne

Friday night 15/03. Surprised that staff and apparently owner had changed. Server was helpful enough but seemed pretty indifferent, and was interrupted by owner/manager lady disrupting us in the middle of me ordering. Waited awhile, but that's ok, Friday night rush and all. BUT while the burgers and chips had been some of the best takeaway ever had, these were easily THE WORST I've know ever had. New owner/manager, while keeping all the same resemblances of the business, has now completely ruined the food. The chips were completely soggy!!?!?! And not really salted at all. I question if they have ever eaten chips in their life. The burger was inedible, and abandoned by my partner. Battered flake was kinda ok, but still a little soggy in parts, while the Greek salad certainly was not greek - missing red onion completely, and included green capsicum which I thought was weird. My husband and I babysit grandchildren every Monday and Tuesday. We have been eating here with our family for a weekly catchup for quite a few years. We hoped with the change of ownership there would not be too many changes. Unfortunately, within weeks of the new people coming in, the differences were obvious.

The food was poorly prepared. Batter was thick and tasted wrong. The chips were so greasy as to not be edible. The fish was so greasy as to not be palatable or edible. No attempt had been made to keep the salad/s fresh in any way. Within a short while, it became obvious that the whole of the kitchen area needed a thorough clean. Prices went up dramatically, despite the poor quality of the food.

My son’s friends would meet regularly to catchup. That stopped due to the quality of the food, service and cleanliness of the premises.

We did try three times after the change of ownership but will never go back and neither will...

We got a take out with UberEats and wasn't expecting much. We've noticed before when ordered fish meals they don't come as fresh and tasty as when you eat in. However this was an exception, it was amazing!

We're big fish eaters and have eaten in some really nice places and this was up there with the quality of the fish.

It was really well cooked, batter wasn't soggy at all which we've had with a few fish places here. The fish itself just melted in your mouth and was a big portion.

We got the two for two pack which also came with chips which were a very big portion. 2 potato pancakes which again were delicious and cooked perfectly. 2 dim dims which were really nice.

I also got the garlic sauce and this is the only thing I had negatives about it was quite acidic as if it had too much lemon juice in it or something.

Over all amazing meal and would definitely order again and would without a doubt visit to get directly...
