Booked a few days in advance for 7 people on a Sat night (7:15) through their online system. After a few hours, I got a call letting me know they needed to shift our booking to a later time due to other big groups being seated, and there being some limited space. We had to shift the reservation by 15 mins only so it wasn’t a big deal. I appreciated the call and the owner letting us know.
When we arrived we got seated pretty quick. We bad a walker with us as my grandma needs this to help her walk, but it was spacey enough for her to walk through, and there was space to fold up the walker behind us.
Service wise - Took some time to order food and drinks but they were a full house! Staff working there were not only kind but also made jokes with us throughout the night.
We had peking duck and the whole pancake set - highly recommend. It was delicious! They also bring it out in this nice wooden carry case (wish I took a pic). We also ordered special fried rice, beef fried rice, bbq pork, lemon chicken, char kway teow noodles, and black bean beef. I wish I had taken a photo of everything! It was all so full of flavour and fresh! The lemon chicken was my favourite - pieces were not the usual tiny cuts you’d usually see in a Chinese restaurant. The pieces were big! And the lemon sauce was incredible.
Drinks wise - I recommend their fresh mango nectar. It was soooooo good.
We were able to eat by 8:30 as this is when all the food started to arrive. By the time we had finished, they were approaching closing so we asked if they were still okay to give dessert. They said yes so I got the deep fried ice cream, my family members got a banana fritters, lychee and ice cream, then the sundae. Of all of them, banana fritter and deep fried ice cream tasted the best and had a good crunch element. The sundae was a bit of a let down visually but my partner loved the ice cream itself.
For everything I paid within the 300-350 range (from memory) but it was well worth it. I would love to come back for more peking duck and lemon chicken! Highly...
Read more@pekingduck_house📍Lowkey surprised this place hasn’t gone more viral. Honestly blown away by this dim sum offer available for the unbeatable deal of $38.8 ALL YOU CAN EAT WEEKEND YUMCHA LUNCH (12-3pm) at this authentic chinese eatery.. in this economy🤯
The staff confirmed there’s also NO time limit which is unbelievable, you can eat until your tummy is content. (Note; As expected wastage is charged extra which is understandable!)
The venue was popular with the local western crowd which may make you skeptical at first 😅 but be reassured the HK manager advised it is all good high quality hand made dim sum- and the taste definitely exceeded all expectations! The dumplings were incredibly generous in filling and tasted fresh👌✨
The chinese decor in this spot gives old school “vintage” chinese restaurant vibes - and I love that all dim sum is cooked to order. For the price point the variety is very pretty good- and includes most staple items you’d expect at a traditional Yumcha spot though a couple were missing but still 100% worthy the money.
You order from a checklist system rather than from trolley carts and there were even desserts but we were too full to try 😭. Also- Because it’s per order the food could be a bit slow to arrive.
Peking Duck was also incredibly delicious for $68 extra (not included in all you can eat Yumcha) and worth a try! Literally loved everything that arrived- the prawn dumplings, baos, XLBS - EVERYTHING. ⭐️✨even the soya sauce noodles had great wok hei, though it needed a bit more dark soy colour. Very yummy value...
Read moreI'm writing this review using my son's account. I’m giving 1 star because of a disappointing experience we had. My son is 12 years old and new to Australia. His English is not very good, and he is quite shy. When the waiter asked if he could eat spicy food, my son was too shy to say no, so he just said “OK.” I forgot to explain to him what the waiter meant.
When the food arrived, it was too spicy for him. He politely asked if he could change the dish because he saw another table (not related to us) was able to change their food. However, the Chinese manager came over and shouted at him, saying, “You already ate, you have to pay for it.”
I understand it was our mistake for not being clear from the beginning, and I don’t expect the restaurant to change the dish for free. But what really upset me was the manager’s attitude. My son is just a child, still adjusting to life in a new country, and the way he was treated was very unkind and disrespectful.
The second issue was the food quality. As someone from an Asian background, I found the dishes poorly made. The sweet and sour dish was too sour and spicy — I couldn’t taste any sweetness at all. The Peking duck roll was too dry, and the fried noodles were extremely oily. Even other customers told me they wouldn’t come back.
Overall, both the service and the food were disappointing. I hope the restaurant can improve not only the food but also how they treat customers,...
