My family and I visited a few days ago for a couple of take away coffees and ended up having to wait almost 40 minutes.

It was a public holiday so we knew it would likely be busy and were probably going to have to wait a bit – which we were happy to do as the coffee from here is always fantastic. However, this wasn’t any sort of reasonable delay of say 15-20 minutes but instead exceeded well beyond what a simple take away coffee is even worth.

Even if it had only been a 15-20 minute delay, we weren’t given any courtesy heads up about the wait time when we placed our order. So you can imagine us at the 35 minute mark thinking that our order had been forgotten all together.

One of us ended up going inside to follow up with a staff member and all we were met with was a simple “yeah it’s coming now”. No explanation and no real apology either. Overall very disappointing.

I acknowledge it’s a busy and stressful time of the year and you can’t please everyone but I truly feel that a little bit of communication would have...

We have a very good cafe here, folks. It’s well on trend with a lovely modern funky fit out, funky staff and, most importantly, mighty good funky food and coffee. Funky is the word. My long black was a cracker. Rich, dark and imposing, it was enhanced by the gorgeous thick cream they’re wise enough to have here. I salute them for the quality of the brew and cream and for the cute presentation on a board. It’s hard to beat. My partner loved her superbly made strong flat white and dangerous but delicious mango slice too. Add lovely service and you’ve got a very fine cafe.

I’d never been to Balnarring before but now I know Phase Two is here and other great things, I’ll be back for...

Such a lovely little cafe that has both indoor and outdoor dining. On warmer days it’s delightful to sit u Dee the umbrellas and have your meal and coffee. I recently came here for a coffee but was tempted to order a slice as well. Didn’t snap a pic - sometimes it just feels too much to snap your food. The meal choices are plentiful and watching plates go past me to other diners was tempting. Next time. Decor is pleasing to the eye and comfortable ya les and chairs. What I can say is that the staff are very friendly. Notes: wheelchair accessible, disabled friendly. Very kid fri fly....

This place is amazing; a gem in Balnarring. Of note, Hurley’s Hero - zucchini fritters, eggs and salmon rillette - is the best brunch dish I’ve ever had - it is literally Michelin-star worthy. Coffee is also fantastic, as are the staff! Friendly and efficient. This place gets crazy busy though, even on a freezing winter morning, so you may have to wait a little for a table. Lots of cute shops to explore as well in the area once you’re done, and of course the beach. We make a little half day morning trip out of Balnarring, based off this cafe alone. 5/5

Had a great experience at this cafe. Went here on the weekend and they were packed but the team was handling it like a pro and very accomodatingâ˜ș The place has a very cute vibe to it, with lots of plant hangings! Menu is on the smaller side but has great options. I do love a place that would take that direction and do it right! Food was delicious, coffee was really good and the Portuguese tart is one of the best I’ve had! Will be back here when in the area next♄
