@theheritagebalnarring 📍Balnarring ✔️ Oysters ⭐️ Bang Bang Cauliflower ✔️ Chicken Parma ✔️ Prosciutto Pizza ➖ Lobster Prawn Ravioli ✔️ Arancini The Heritage is a restaurant located in Balnarring on the Mornington Peninsula. Set within a beautiful 1930’s home on a 2 acre property, owned and operated by the lovely Crossman family, who have put their heart and soul into it. ❤️‍🔥 Everything about the venue is supersized, the portions are huge! Multiple indoor and outdoor dining areas to suit any occasion, whether a quiet lunch, to watch the footy or a family gathering where the kids can run around. They have a steady menu of pub classics, including their Chicken Parma that won Top 10 Parmas in Victoria at the 2023 Pub Awards. Their specials board offers 5 entrees and 6-8 mains that change weekly as well as a vegan and vegetarian menu. You can grab fresh prawns and oysters on ice on the weekends.🦪 We started with a Lychee Spritz (yum!) and some of their oysters which were so incredibly fresh, served simply with tiny little tabasco bottles and lemon. The Bang Bang Cauliflower was our favourite dish of the day, the best we have had, they had the perfect crunch. The Prosciutto Pizza was fluffy and enjoyable, loved the hot honey, but maybe more like a flatbread! 🍕 Their famous Parma was delicious, tasty toppings, great crumb, served with seasoned chunky chips. The salad presentation on all dishes lacked but the taste was there! The Arancini bordered on being over fried but the filling was great. 🤤 Our eyes almost popped out of our heads twice, once when we saw that the Lobster Prawn Ravioli with Champagne Sauce was only $36 and then again when we saw the portion size! A bowl packed with ravioli and topped with additional seafood. It was nice, but we did think this dish could have been better with maybe 5-6 extra-large ravioli instead of the small ones - it did get a bit heavy. 🦞 Open for lunch and dinner 5 days a week, with live music most Sundays! Come hungry, we’ll be back next time we’re feeling like a good, homely feed on the ninch.

Absolutely blown away by The Heritage. I could not recommend it more! We hired out the private venue room yesterday for a special event and it was perfect. We will absolutely be back again! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and the space was beautifully presented. The fireplace created a lovely ambience, the built in sound system was incredibly handy, the dimmable lights to create mood lighting and having the option to use the TV (with access to Netflix, YouTube etc) is a great feature for entertaining kids or displaying slideshow photos etc, although the kids were happily occupied playing on the grass area right beside the room. The room is stunning and well thought out. We had around 22 guests and it never once felt crowded. The décor is very tasteful and the overall flow of the space made hosting easy. A shoutout to Ashley, who was amazing throughout the planning process with me. Super accommodating, patient and helpful with every little question I had (Sorry haha). And Aaron, who looked after us on the day, was absolutely fantastic. He was attentive, really friendly and on top of everything. The value for money was incredible considering the quality of service, food and the beautiful venue space. Several of our guests mentioned they’d be enquiring about booking their own events there now! Honestly, I can’t thank the team enough – this place is a gem. Highly highly recommend! ⭐

Came here when it wasn’t busy ordered a $70 steak was told medium rare to medium was medium to well done chewy and nearly choked on it. Was told this is how it comes out and basically bad luck. Others had a Parma with raw bread crumb on the shintzel. I’d hate to see the food quality when it’s actually busy. Never coming back As I’m unable to reply directly, I’ve chosen to edit my review to clarify a few points. The photo I posted is simply a close-up of the steak and has not been edited in any way. If you take a moment to look through my other reviews, you’ll see that I’ve left multiple positive ones — in fact, the third most recent is a 4-star review. When I visited a few months ago, several people I was with commented that their meals, particularly the parmigianas, were disappointing — describing them as soggy and undercooked. My own meal at that time, however, was quite good. On this occasion, I didn’t request a refund; I simply didn’t want to finish a meal that was tough and unpleasant to eat. The image I posted clearly shows the undercooked, gluey texture beside the parmigiana — which appears to be raw breadcrumbs. Rather than attempting to discredit a genuine customer’s experience in front of your patrons, perhaps it would be more constructive to address the actual feedback and perhaps just take on some feedback and perhaps maybe dare I even say it have a word to the kitchen?

We had 2 bad experiences here in a place where the staff have attitude and are simply so rude that we will never ever return. 3 weeks ago we attempted to book a table for 2 (not mothers day) and we tried calling 3 times to make a reservation. We left several messages on their answering service with our details and the time and date and we never ever got a response. Still waiting for a reply.

Yesterday (22nd May) we took a chance and went there for lunch and the place was far off being full. Wow talk about Fawlty Towers, upon arrival my partner received the most rude lecture from a very argumentative mid 30s dark haired large woman about QR codes. She told my partner that "she is the only woman in the world" to have a phone that will not read a QR code and that "in 1 week she would be unable to enter any premises in Australia again". Then she continued to argue the point at very high volume which created a lot of embarrassment. She continued to lecture the point for several minutes and wouldn't seat us until she was satisfied that we understand her point. In the end we bit our tongues so we could go and sit with our friends. I didn't know the Heritage was the QR Code Police. When were you deputised??? We almost walked out at that point but as we were with friends we decided to give it a try.

During the 3 hours we were there we were given bad looks and comments from staff for taking "too long" to order, after we had eaten our meals we were delivered some other peoples meals and then spoken to rudely as if it was our fault for the mix up. We were pressured into eating desert and coffees when we were not ready and they brought us cocktails that were made for another table.

We are quite sorry that we made the choice to dine at The Heritage and I wish that we hadn't taken guests from another area. We would like to be proud of a local establishment but I'm sorry you guys are way off the mark for us to place any positive feedback. You have a long way to go with your choice of staff. There is probably a very good reason why you are not full on a beautiful autumn day.

After reading the negative posts below there is a common theme of extremely poor customer service with uncompromising and patronising replies written by the hotel. There is also a common reply by the hotel in always blaming the customers for each issue. Lets see if they reply in the same way to this poor review (its probably our fault for everything). If an establishment cannot own bad service, apologize to the complainant, deal with the issues, and then move on then these people are in the wrong business. This type of management is a recipe for disaster and the business is doomed. This place really needs a kick up the backside and move on the bad staff or bad owners. You will not survive long term for treating customers in this way.

For anyone looking for a great meal with awesome staff who really care about the dining experience do not eat at The Heritage. Try the Hastings Marina. We have been eating there for 5 years and have experienced their accommodating service, their friendly staff and their amazing food. They are the best meal in the area. We have never had a bad experience at the...

No, I am sorry, you are simply incorrect here. We did have a booking at 2:30pm, I called the restaurant 5x times from 2:20pm to advise we were running late & nobody answered each of the 5 x calls. My wife spoke to your staff when we arrived at 2:50pm (not 2:58pm), apologised for being late & asked if it was still ok to take our booking. She was told it was fine, asked if we wanted a Vegetarian menu & directed her to the table & then set the table up with cutlery. We didn't arrive at 2:58pm, we didnt speak rudely to your staff, we did enquire as to why the table was set up & we were led to it if our order wasn't going to be taken though, which was a fairly reasonable line of enquiry. The fact that you have chosen to we-write what happened & question me speaks volumes. You, presumably a grown adult, should know better. Dont re-write history to cover up what is simply poor customer service & your attitude here simply compounds things. Good-bye.

Your attitude here is appalling. You continue to put forward lies to save face rather than see the opportunity to be better. We did not 'insist to be seated' nor did we 'come to the realisation that the kitchen staff are allowed to have a break.' We apologised for being late, after attempting to inform you of our late arrival. One staff member told us our arrival time was fine & lead us to our table, where another staff member laid the table & gave us all menus. A few minutes later we were then told the kitchen was closed & our order wouldn't be taken. I simply asked why we were lead to our table & then have it set & presented manus if the kitchen was closed? A fairly reasonable question in the circumstances. We then left, as we were told not orders would not be taken. We weren't rude as you are stating here. Your attitude here really is appalling & you are simply trying to save face at my expense. I hope anybody considering visiting this venue reads this review & your response. This is the attitude you can expect here. I certainly will be telling anybody considering attending this...
