Since relocating to the area last year I have longed so badly for a scrumptious, oh so delicious sausage roll. How hard is it to make a GOOD sausage roll that keeps me wanting to go back to that same bakery (often)... well, apparently very difficult locally. That was until yesterday when I thought to myself 'wait, Balnarring surly has a bakery' so off I trotted at about 11am and chose The Red Hill Baker as my first stop. I thought it must have been good because the line was actually out the door when I got there and there were plenty of people enjoying a sit down meal. Service was super quick. I grabbed a sausage roll and a duck pie (yes, duck pie šŸ˜) for later. Sweet mother of Jeebus that sausage roll was like heaven. Probably the best sausage roll I've ever eaten... so great, I went and got one for breakfast this morning. The duck pie was absolutely delicious too. 100% taking the family here for a feed. I love that you can purchase frozen meals, pies and good too. What an awesome store. Staff have een super friendly too both...

Let me start off by saying if I could give this cafe a 0 stars I would. I ordered a hot chocolate and sausage roll, the ā€œhot chocolateā€ had no flavour and was more like warm milk. After eating the sausage roll I felt unwell and then found out I had food poisoning as that night I was vomiting from 9pm-430am. I am still suffering with cramping in the stomach days later. This sausage roll has genuinely traumatised me and I am still finding it hard to eat food. Last but certainly not least the bathrooms absolutely rank and made me want to vomit. There were only two options, men’s and disabled/ women’s. I have many issues with this, especially considering all of the staff appeared to be women. This cafe is an utter disgrace and has ruined Balnarring for me. I will not be returning and I urge all who choose to eat her to be careful and to not order the sausage roll. I do not understand how this "cafe" has such high reviews and would not be surprised if they filtered...

Horrific experience, will never return. Arrived after 2 for late lunch. Ordered frittata and iced coffee. Specifically asked whether i should wait at counter or sit down. Told to sit down and they would find me. After a 20 minute wait i went back to counter to chase up my order. Was toÄŗd it was my fault and eventually got given frittata in takeaway and my coffee was sitting on a counter for i dont know how long. This was all in a non busy time. When i went to counter to chase up my food and coffee after a 20 minute wait i was told after 2 it was takeaway so apparently i should not have sat down as specifically told to do. Ccustomers are expected to know all of this as the worÄ·ers just tell you lies and then blame you for not knowing their serving rules. As a tourist to this area, i would not revommend this place and will never come here again. Lots of other friendlier and more professional places in the same...

Cute little bakery and has a small grocer attached. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. Vegan options available. The pies are good-- not your typical gas station, dubious meat pies. The flavors are quite interesting. We ordered the Duck & 5 Spice Pie and a Beef & Burgundy Pie. The duck pie tasted a lot like Chinese BBQ duck which was kind of weird but interesting. The beef pie was good with big chunks of meat and good flavor, although a bit gooey. Both pies came with (onion?) relish. The attached grocer has a good selection of fresh fruits/ veggies and frozen take home meals which would be very convenient if you're staying somewhere with a kitchenette. There's a few Red Hill Bakers around the area.

We went there and had duck pie and chai. It was sooo good. The chai was one of the best I had so far in Australia. They have live performance on Sundays and it’s such a good vibe!

A local gem with the best carrot cake ever! Red Hill Baker is an absolute must-visit if you’re in the area. The vibe is super casual and welcoming – perfect for a relaxed bite or takeaway. The queues are unmatched but worth the wait. Their carrot cake is hands down the best I’ve ever had – moist, perfectly spiced, and topped with the dreamiest frosting. The pies are incredible, packed with flavour and baked to perfection. And the smell of their freshly baked bread hits you as soon as you walk in – all made by locals with real care and quality ingredients. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to try everything on the menu. A true slice of country bakery heaven!
