Pie Time — Restaurant in Melbourne

I'm really not sure why this place is as popular as it seems. The place looks fantastic when you walk in and there is plenty of places to sit. However I think they just cater to the local commercial bossiness's because the food is pretty poor. you can get the same or better from a servo pie and the service is just shocking. Also make sure you count your change and don't expect the correct money. Multiple times they have "accidentally" given the incorrect change. I asked my co-workers and this is a common thing. Probably explains why they don't accept EFTPOS and just point you to an ATM that then charges a fee to use which I'm sure the owners take a cut of those profits too. Put simply If your just stopping for a pie or a quick bite to eat go to the servo over the road. If your going to sit in for a lunch break and eat something more substantial don't get your hopes up. Up until they hired the new server the service was amazing, they would always give free cinamon donuts, the food had always been a bit so so, pies being too full and breaking apart before you finished them and dry premade rolls from yesterday but you could always rely on smiles and cheer from the staff. The new server is not only a buzz kill she fails to understand the simplest of requests and will do the opposite after telling you she's got it. If you go here you really should eat the pies. I mean they do other things OK but the pies are where it's at in my eyes. Plus it is called pie time. They have a good range of pies and are definitely above the average bakery pie. However I seem to drive past this place more often on a Sunday than any other day of the week. And I'm always disappointed because Sunday was always pie day in my family and Pie Time is closed on a Sunday. I know right, like the owners want to have a life and not work 7 days a week. I might have to go on a Saturday and get a takeaway pie to cook on Sunday. Then I can enjoy Pie time at...
