Ionica Fine Foods — Local services in Melbourne

People who have any clues shouldn't complain about this place; it's called La Ionica as they process their own branded chicken on site. The stock they sell is fresh daily & it really shows. My family loves making traditional chicken broth, which is perfect with two size 12 chickens. Please note: la ionica chicken really is the best chicken here! Don't bother with other branded stuff as you're wasting your time. Bannockburn may be free range, but i have tried it several times myself & it cannot compare to the companies own brand. Also on a side note i occasionally buy small goods from the deli also located in the same complex. The lady there is super friendly (as are most of the staff), and the pricing is quite competitive compared to other places. Not much to complain about here.. During busy times like weekends you really do need to take a ticket and wait to be served, but this only proves the popularity of this place is founded on solid sales of quality goods. This is my 'go to' for freshly grated parmesan cheese, different sized buckets of ovolini/boconcini (white cheese in water).

L'Ionica has now become a 'one stop shop'. They started out as just a fresh chicken retailer... over the years they have evolved and now have a smorgasbord of different cuts of chicken or other meats, pre-marinated, crumbed, stuffed fresh for you to take home and just cook. They have done the hard work for... so you can just enjoy your meal.

On entry to the store they also have fresh fruit & vegetables and product ranging from an Italian groceries (that I am accustomed to) to fresh or aged dairy products, pre-packaged meals, dry food products and a small deli with lunch...

Clearly if you think of shopping at La Ionica half an hour before closing you will find limited stock to chose from and staff more focused on packing stock away and cleaning up than servicing customer's. Only reason I gave a single star is the service l received from the young man in the deli section. I understand that people want to go home but don't advertise business hour's if you're going to stop servicing customers half an hour before COB. Without customers there is no business nor job's.
