PJ's Mexican Kitchen Mitcham — Restaurant in Melbourne

Went to PJs Mitcham last night for the first time, booking for two adults and three kids. Cozy little place with a fun and interesting atmosphere due to the Mexican/Day of the Dead inspired nick nacks throughout and their large selection of tequila bottles. The food didn’t take long to come out and was amazing, and the Jarritos were perfect for the kids. The staff/service was fantastic, a gentleman who we believe was the manager/owner looked after us, super friendly, took the time confirm our orders and reassure everyone that they were ordering something they would enjoy. We sat at a table near the front entry and my daughters chair was the closest to the door, she became the door man a couple times and was happy to help keeping the door open for staff while they took food to the tables outside - my daughters is currently looking for a job PJs wink wink! YAY!! PJ's has done it again! My wife and I had a VERY good Mexican meal here tonight. She had the "Burrito del Mar" and I had the Loco Enchiladas (beef). Her burrito had a VERY fair amount of prawns and scallops and was spiced appropriately. My enchilada dinner came to the table PIPING hot and very flavourful.

The service is very good: the wait staff is always bustling about and working very hard. They are friendly, attentive, efficient, and fill the orders correctly and QUICKLY (so very important!).

The owner, Kourosh obviously loves his work and the people who come to his restaurant! You can see it by the way he takes the time to laugh with the diners and make sure they are happy. The words "family" "caring" and "professional" come to mind. He is "out in the trenches"; I can tell he teaches by example.

The best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to, nothing else will ever compare. The food is beyond perfection and the owner is a real credit to the experience because he makes us feel like family. He is genuinely excited to meet people and is really involved, he honestly makes me so happy to be there. All the staff are exceptionally welcoming, and the chef is outstanding! The rich fresh ingredients, always arrives hot and tastes phenomenal. Favourites are the Chilli Con Carne, the Fajitas with the sizzle plate, and the creamy scallop Del Mar. OMG and the Dulce Mousse for dessert. I just love the atmosphere, the decor, the food, the people, actually is my favourite place to eat. Thanks for always being accommodating to us and nice to everyone so we like to invite and recommend PJs in Mitcham to all our family and friends. See you again...
