If I could give a 0 star rating I would! Order was placed at 6.40pm. We were told that delivery would be around 7.47. Meal turned up at 8.08. Order was missing mine and my sons dinner and was cold. I called the restaurant, who advised me that they were out of the meal that I ordered for my son and myself. I did not get a phone call to tell me that part of my order was not available and was not being delivered.. It took almost 1 hour and 25 minutes to deliver us pre-cooked food (the restaurant is 12 minutes drive from my house). The Owner of the business told me that it was not his responsibility to tell me that they were out of something that I ordered, it was menulog’s responsibility because they use Menulog drivers. When I advised the owner that the food was cold and asked why it took so long he hung up on me. I called back and asked why he hung up and he said I was being aggressive. I tried to say that I was not being aggressive and was just trying to tell him the food was cold. He said ‘we are just a small business’. I told him that is why I ordered from them as I was trying to support small businesses. He responded ‘if you were trying to support small businesses you would come into the shop and order’ I told him it is Friday night and my partner and I have had a couple off drinks and that is why we put in an order for delivery. He responded ‘that explains a lot’ I then told him to get fked and as I was hanging up he told me to get fked. Mind you, I have been charged for the food that was...
Read moreI used to frequent this place a few times in the past, but their standards have dropped by a mile. Today, I had a craving for charcoal chicken in particular.
Ordered a whole bird for dinner and two salads. Salads were fine. Coleslaw was standard, beetroot salad nothing special. The biggest letdown? The charcoal chicken itself - supposed to be the star of the show.
Obviously, it was part of the batch cooked early in the day rather than a fresh chook for the evening... and so it had dried out and was no longer soft or juicy! I wouldn't have been surprised if they were in the mindset of "just get rid of it" because it had been sitting in warming since this morning. The problem is... you guys chose to give it away to an unsuspecting customer who was just after a decent meal.
Long story short; dinner completely ruined.
Even before biting into it I could feel how tough and dry it was through the paper bag it came in - like a steak that was beyond well done. Apart from the thigh and drumsticks - which were barely tolerable at best - the rest of the bird was downright inedibly tough.
I'm appalled that owner didn't even bother to check quality or give me a fresher batch. Should have gotten a chook from Coles instead... at least they batch their chooks so that they're not dried out.
After being in the business as long as you guys have, it's still disappointing that you'd subject customers to such...
Read moreIt’s easy to put into words how delicious this Lamb Souva is – WOW! So let’s break it down…
Atmosphere: * It’s a very typical souvlaki store and a little small but there are a few 2 seater tables inside and a few tables outside to dine in. Overall it is very clean but a little rough around the edges.
Customer Service: * Was greeted by the owner who was a genuinely good bloke and friendly – happy to help with a smile and was quick too. Aside for frying the lamb on the hot plate (which everyone does) he had my order in my hands within a few minutes. Lastly, I asked if it was okay to eat in the store and he said “hang on, let me get you a plate” – Blew me away as I didn’t expect a plate. Outstanding.
Food (Why we are here): * Lamb Souvlaki – No Onion - $14.00 It was sensational – real lamb cooked on a great spit, and the salad was fresh and there was a lot of it too. The portion of meat was reasonable for this time of rising inflation too.
Overall: * While the shop is a little old looking and may need a reno, the friendly customer service and the food was absolutely first rate. Highly recommend to everyone. Thanks...
