Dined at Pony for dinner and the only word to describe it is spectacular. With so many new restaurant openings we are spoiled for choice in Melbourne - but I can safely say this is one of the best new openings I’ve been to in a fair while. Fantastic food - the flatbread and labneh were terrific. The pilaf and Mediterranean salad particularly good. The only dish which fell a bit flat was the snapper ceviche. But even then - it was still good. The menu isn’t overly creative and you’re not going to find flavour combos that are going to blow your mind and challenge you - but it’s simple food executed perfectly. Service was great too and venue very cute. Highly recommend and I will definitely return

A little neighbourhood gem in the heart of Armadale. My experience at Pony was very positive, staff were really friendly and the food was very high quality and reasonably priced. Wine bar restaurants like Pony are my favourite types of restaurants in Melbourne, being unique and popular with the locals of the area. I’m always a big fan of having a cocktail with dinner. The cocktail I ordered was like a spicy passion fruit margarita, really nice. The cheese burger I ordered had meat cooked to PERFECTION. The cheese was super stringy and filled with lots of pickles. I was seated upstairs, the atmosphere was very homey and I loved the interior details specifically the mood lighting.

An excellent neighbourhood style bistro where the menu is designed to share or choose the individual mains. The design is very nice and stylish and cozy and with a second floor where there is a private dining room and an extension of downstairs dining room or in the warmer months sit outside in the courtyard. The starters were lovely as was the main shared Lamb Shank and chicken. Service was friendly and efficient. The wine list is well balanced but did seem on the expensive side. Overall a great wine bar style restaurant that is worth a visit or two! I personally look forward to returning soon!

Very disappointing. Ordered the steak special. Even at a reduced price it was not worth it. Very mediocre quality. They insist that you can only get Med-Rare or Well-Done. I believe that one has the right to order to one's preference. We ordered one of each and there was a 50/50 chance of getting it correct, but they served it wrong without asking who ordered which. The place was not full yet the noise level was intense, not helped by the loud music that no one seemed to be dancing to. Another strange thing is that the outside seating is on what I would describe as a type of uncomfortable stool/chair and paper napkins, as opposed to REAL chairs and cloth napkins inside. If you are relegated to the outdoors you deserve a different...
