Had visited your restaurant in Roxburgh Park. And liked the food. Especially the chicken 65 / Gobhi 65.
This weekend I visited the werribee outlet with high expectations specially when I praised about your place to my friends.
Chicken 65 & Gobhi 65 - as expected. No issues.
Mutton Dum Biryani - Specifically I asked the server to check it's dum one not the quick fix pulao prep. If not then replace with chicken dum biryani. And if no dum biryani is available, then let me know will order something else. But to my dismay I was served a quick fix version where mutton curry/masala was mixed with rice. The server was courteous enough to come back and ask, I did mention it's not a dum biryani. But nevermind now that I am eating. Though she mentioned upon asking the chef he confirmed it's the dum version. (P.S. - If the chef doesn't know what a dum version is, I rest my case)
Mutton keema - Was decent. A small feedback, too much of cashews. And it was over powering the dish.
Garlic Naans - I really liked that you guys put actual chopped garlic and not the garlic paste. But wait, was that even a naan. That was a thin bread with garlic. Not a roti nor a naan. Upon asking the server, I was told that's how we make it. Please again get the chefs to taste some good Naans. Or may it is some version of naan we get in Hyderabad. Then I am not certain off. But surely it is not what we get in North India or other Indian restaurants in Melbourne. And even in your Roxburgh outlet I had decent Naans.
Paneer 65 Biryani - can't comment as I did not had. But my friends didn't liked it.
Gulab. Jamun - love the gulab jamuns at Roxburgh. 3 pieces in a plate with pistachios on it. But this time, was served 2 pieces in a plate. Maybe you guys have changed the serving quantity, that's acceptable. But gulab jamuns are supposed to be sweet , melt in the mouth. These were just tasting like I am eating green cardamon. Too much of cardamon flavor that it over powered everything.
For us it was a loss of a good meal. But you lost a repeat customer. Please work on the issues and bring some consistency. Retaining a customer is easier than acquiring one. Too many establishments in the market to take on your...
Read moreGreat place to bring family and friends for a weekend or weeknight dinner. Recently dined here with my parents which was their first time at this restaurant and I must provide a pre-disclosure that we don't often choose Indian restaurants as we found it difficult to get one that serves authentic Indian/Pakistani cuisine in Melbourne. While this time was no different, hubby and my cousins craved for rice and naan/tandoori roti (flat bread) as they've all been missing home cooked cuisine lately. So there we were, at the 'only good Indian restaurant we know that serves a wide range of Northern and Southern Indian dishes in decent portions at a great value, with the combination of good customer service'! Same as our previous visits (at least 1.5 years back), the customer service of their experienced front staff didn't disappoint! The food and portions were the same standard as we found on our last visits. Parneet, the lovely lady who looked after us was simply one of the most professional restaurant staff we've ever come across! ⭐⭐⭐ Her way of explaining the dishes and patiently answering all of our questions with a smile made it a lot easier to decide on what we'd order. Well done Team Pulao Place and kudos to Parneet for her exceptional service! Hope you can keep up the...
Read moreI have never came down to pen a review for any restaurant. But, For the very first time and being a Food Quality Assurance Officer, I believe to aware the store owner and the upcoming customers to think 💭 twice before exploring the cuisine. I have been there before, we had Pulaw that time, and no doubt - It was damn good ! Which made me to visit there again. But, This time I visited the Restaurant on Sunday at around 2:00 🕑 pm. We ordered a lot of stuff: Idli sambhar, Cholle bhaturey, Rasmalai, Coke and Mango lassi. At First, I got Idli sambhar - Idli’s were like dry - Over cooked or were like been there in microwave for long. Related Chutneys were not fresh - Have a look 👀 at the pictures attached - U will get an idea. Fresh spoons taken out were found to be dirty. Then came Cholle Bhaturey - A lot Over Fried 😂 and with all four of different sizes. Variability can be there 😂 but not upto that extent. Luckily Rasmalai and Coke saved me 🫣. I didn’t said anything while paying because I don’t want to hold blame for JUST not wanna paying. All in all, need to focus more on these area, else gonna impact the main line of cuisine. Sorry 😞, If it hurted but my guest went back empty stomach. No one eat properly - as we left with half plates full....
