Ray’s does some solid sandwiches in an area stacked with delis and salad bars, and the quality was up to par.

Tried two sandwiches: • Rueben – Pretty stock standard, nothing fancy but done right. The pastrami could’ve been a bit juicier and more flavourful, but the cheese stood out with a strong punch. Bread was toasted, felt a bit “healthier” than the usual buttery Rueben style. Overall, decent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ $17 • Italian (special) – Served on a panini bun, loaded with fresh antipasto and proper ingredients. Flavours were solid, but the bun was too thick and threw off the bread-to-meat balance. Looked better in photos than in bites. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ $18.5

One note: while waiting I overheard staff joking “thank god no one’s making changes to sandwiches today.” Not a big deal, but maybe keep that chat out of earshot of customers.

Not sure I’d rush back, but definitely worth a try if...

Don’t get me wrong, the sandwiches were delicious. But there’s 2 things to consider when going here.

On a weekend when it’s busy, do you have 45 minutes to spare waiting for your sandwich? Because sadly, that’s the turn-around time from order to received.

Make sure you check that the sandwiches you receive are the ones that you ordered! I know it’s partially on me for not checking when I received the order, but they call out a name, not the sandwiches ordered, and sadly despite ordering 1 Fresh Ham and 1 Il Caprese, we instead received 2 Fresh Ham…
