Red Rooster Rowville — Restaurant in Melbourne

My parents, sister Corinne and I are extremely happy with the Big Feast (a meal deal enough to feed our family of four) we ordered via delivery from Red Rooser Rowville that we had earlier this evening on Sunday 1st June 2025, the PERFECT way to start the month! The four of us thank everyone from the Red Rooster Rowville Team so much - including manager AK (Akshayak Kumar, a super awesome guy who was so friendly and helpful towards my friend/godfather Peter and I met him for the first time last year during our dine in visit to Red Rooster Rowville) - for cooking and packing our Big Feast to perfection! We all are so grateful! AK and his team deserve every reward and acknowledgement for that and for always going above and beyond for all their Red Rooster Rowville customers including it my family and Peter and I. Equally deserving of every reward and acknowledgement is the Uber Eats driver who delivered our Big Feast in record time perfectly piping hot and intact, thank you so much to them to, my family and I are so grateful!

Our Big Feast was ordered at 8:35pm on Sunday June 1st 2025, I have taken and uploaded a photo of the receipt...I have also taken and uploaded photos of the Big Feast including my Dad plating it up for us; the Big Feast was comprised of the iconic Red Rooster Whole Chicken cut beautifully into quarters, 8 pieces of their Original fried chicken, Large Cruchy Slaw, Large Crunchy Potato, Large Mash & Gravy, Large Sweet Potato and a 1.25L Pepsi Max.

Every aforementioned element from the aforementioned Big Feast was absolutely delicious! So delicious it was along with all previous menu items I had from the various Red Rooster especially Red Rooster Rowville that I consider Red Rooster to be one of the National Dishes Of Australia. It was that AMAZING.

So sorry to the Red Rooster Rowville Team including manager AK I had to delete my previous Red Rooster Rowville 5-star Google review to make way for this one. But I did screenshot the whole previous review and uploaded the screenshots (which should hopefully appear on Google reviews) praising AK and Red Rooster Rowville for how extremely happy Peter and I was with everything AK and Red Rooster Rowville did for us last year during our last dine on visit there, AK and his team were so nice and friendly and the Chicken & Pie boxes were absolutely delicious especially the Chickenn& Gravy Pie that was included in it, a limited time only menu item we hope to see again one day.

Thank you so much again from my family, Peter and I to AK and the Red Rooster team as well as theur Uber Eafs delivery drivers for always delivering absolutely stellar food, service and delivery! Can't rate the food because my order was cancelled by doordash. I ordered at 9.30am to be delivered after 10.15am. The website lets you book a time for delivery and the earliest which is 10.15am.

I called Red Rooster Rowville who said 2 drivers already tried to pick up the order. Why was the delivery booked before you even open? Why is it even an option? So if I ordered for 12pm at 9.30am would a driver be showing up early to pick up the order? It seems that way.

It seems like the manager was blaming me for ordering it early. Claiming that it takes time to cook chicken. I had no issue with how long it takes to cook it. It could have shown up at 11am and I would have been fine with that. The problem I have is the fact I can order early for a specific time. Why were drivers showing up early for a 10.15am delivery anyway? You don't open till 10am.

There is a reason red rooster isn't popular and their outdated systems is one of them. The managers need to be telling the head office to fix their website. Imagine if I ordered for 12pm and the system books a driver to pick up at 9.30 in the morning?

But you know, I shouldn't have ordered so early according to the manager. It's my fault. Because chicken takes time to cook? Please make it make sense.

So I called the store, he said chicken is cooked now. Okay cool, can you just deliver it? "I don't have the means to do that". What, why? So now I have to wait 3 working days for a refund? My original review was 4/5 stars. I'm typically pretty lenient with my reviews but when a store manager chooses to blame the customer instead of their own system that they have in place, it goes to a 1/5.

I should have ordered McDonalds and in the future I'll be avoiding Red Rooster as a whole, especially the one...

I’ve been coming to this Red Rooster ever since my local one closed back in 2020 or whenever it was (the one that used to be at Spaghetti Junction in Springvale, which is now an Oporto’s).

I would say that this store, in terms of the quality of food and quality of the service, is the best one near me and better than the Notting Hill store.

Every time I come here the staff are super friendly and helpful and one girl in particular (brown hair with braces) in drive thru ALWAYS greets me with a friendly smile, something that I find to be super rare these days! The staff also 95% of the time include napkins and the right cutlery which stands out compared to other fast food places.

Red Rooster has also really done a huge 180 in the past several years, people might remember Red Rooster for mainly doing roast chicken but their fried chicken is absolutely amazing and it’s really good from this store (especially when it’s freshly fried). The range of food on offer compared to other fast food stores is also better as you can order roasted vegetables, peas and coleslaw for your daily vegetable requirements.
