Friday night, 7pm, the wind is still but my stomach is rumbling. The wait staff were quick and efficient to guide us to our table where we embarked on our “Stonez” culinary experience. Poor table choice - in between two couples but when we asked to move, the staff were kind and understanding and hastily facilitated our relocation to our new dining surface. We did not hesitate when it came to the cuisine in which we wished to indulge in - 200g Striploin steak (stone grilled(of course)) with a generous side of potato frites and a vibrant carbonara linguine laced with succulent bacon bits. “Two of these please,” we boisterously exclaimed. A minimal yet nondescript period of time elapsed while we eagerly anticipated the grand arrival of these scrumptious displays of culinary excellence. But just enough time to allow for a second guess on our order because there was a plethora of viable options to choose from. I often find myself becoming agitated and impatient when there is a hefty wait time for the arrival of my food, yet these new tips that my parole officer gave me to stay calm were not even necessary this time. We watched as the kind-eyed and compassionate waitresses brought our meals over with absolute due diligence (they couldn’t drop a plate if they were blind and had no arms! That’s how good they were.) The aroma emanating from the fresh cut of meat was sure to make anyone in a 10m radius have their mouths watering (amongst other things..) We had a seamless time cutting into the steak, and devouring the side dishes. Once our bellies were full, the wait staff promptly hurried to remove the dining receptacles which housed our delicious culmination of proteins, carbs and of course, triglycerides. This speedy service, from both the wait staff and the kitchen staff allowed us to make it to our Roundtable with our many uncles with 10 minutes to spare. Side note, remind me to bring some of these various uncles of mine to this establishment as soon as I gather the funds (I am half way though liquidating my investments in a wide variety of rare fish, as the market is going strong right now.) Prices were somewhat on the higher side, yet the recent tax rebate which I pledged allowed me to sleep soundly knowing that I am not losing any of my financial girth from this dining experience. Shabooyah! I’m gonna cut this short because I don’t want to bore you, and I was always told by my mother to keep things succinct. Overall, a solid 5/5 well-deserved stars and will be returning promptly with the aforementioned members of my Friday-nightly Roundtable of Uncles where we discuss ways to become rich. (Tonight’s points were to become rich: skipping most meals, firing your debt collectors, making more money, and advancing the timeline on your inheritance.) Many thanks to you all, but before I sign off, I bequeath to you this final piece of advice; disappear for 6 years, study profitable skills, avoid parties, no girls, take back...
Read moreI'm not usually someone that posts reviews on Google, but I thought after my experience at The Stonez Restaurant tonight, that it deserved the review. I booked through email (I work weird hours making it harder to organise through phone), and was able to get a booking for a group of 20 with just under 2 weeks notice. I received a prompt email reply back saying that they were more than happy to accommodate my request. The staff were lovely tonight (Saturday 15th May 2021). Great front of house service and we had such a lovely waitress who kept checking in on us, making sure we were happy and if we needed anything. It was also great to be able to watch the kitchen staff cook our meals fresh, and the energy radiating from the kitchen was great to watch and there was very clear communication between all of the chefs so dishes were served on time and weren't left sitting there waiting. Everyone had such a great night, especially my Mum who was the birthday girl. We weren't rushed out of the door either despite being a busy Saturday night and weren't made to feel like we had to keep buying stuff in order for us to socialise. The staff cleaned our table for us and were more than happy to let us sit and catch up (we were there for 3 and a half hours) Meals and drinks were very well priced, I was surprised at the end considering what we got. Even better, we were allowed to do split bills despite being such a massive group. Thanks for such a great night Michael, Kym and the staff at Stonez. I'll definitely be coming back...
