Roast'd Chinese BBQ & Duck — Restaurant in Melbourne

11/24 - 11 months ago I left a 4 out of 5 star review for a dining in experience. Since then we have dined a few more times, but it has always been hit and miss. Yesterday we ordered a delivery - first big mistake. The expected time advised by DoorDash was between 6:15 and 6:30. We were advised that the delivery was on its way at 6:10 but DoorDash delivered at 6:53 [with a distance of 5.1kms between restaurant and residence - naturally food was very cold. Now for the food quality - very disappointing. The Pork in S&S was so chewy and dry that it was inedible - pork appeared to be double cooked or cooked and then refried; the beef in the spicy noodle soup was full of large pieces of fat and again very dry and chewy; the sauce in the roast pork noodles had no balance in flavour - don't know if the chefs actually checked the flavour and seasoning. Overall, a lot of hard-earned money down the drain [approx $75 for 3 meals of which 2 were cheap noodles/soups and DoorDash]. As for DoorDash, first time I have used them, and it will be the last. We discovered this place in covid lockdown via Uber Eats and it became a favourite. For the first time we finally went and dined in and absolutely loved it. Nice fresh hot food. Absolutely delicious. Loved the robot waiter too! By recommendation of the lovely young male waiter, we tried the pandan flavour crepe cake and we are glad we did. It was so delicious! Definitely recommend giving it a try if you are unsure. It has a nice vanilla flavour with a hint of indescribable nice underlying flavour. I’d almost call it sort of a mint (slightest hint of). Only negative and reason I removed a star was because the restaurants cleanliness overall definitely needs improving. Windows are always absolutely filthy and have always been and also the floors always have crumbs. Bench seats with rips/tears in and bathrooms dirty with scrap old toilet paper rolls and wrappers and paper everywhere and just not kept on top of in that respect.

We have been going here for years but my last few visits I could see the service and food quality decline! We got cold food and the service was deplorable. Customers were going and getting their own water cutlery and the waitress(white chick) she was rude to all the customers, yes i was watching. She stood behind the counter drinking whatever she was drinking and not serving or attending to customers and when people approached her she was annoyed. The reason I'm taking the effort to review is sometimes the owner is busy trying to hold the reigns and when you employ people with poor service skills and serve cold food you will loose customers.
