They are amazing!
Back in ancient times, Buddhist monk were prohibited from eating meat, so they managed to cook meat alternatives from soy: tofu. With tofu, they could taste a flavour similar to meat, while still being vegetarian.
But this place did something more amazing! I bought a roast pork banh mi for 8.50 (which is much more expensive than Footscray, where they sell the same thing for 5), and they performed magic in front of me!
THEY MADE MEAT TASTE LIKE THERE WASN’T ANY MEAT! Apart from the fact that it was very expensive, they also added near-zero meat in it. It was definitely not worth its price. For the 5 bucks banh mi I mentioned above, you could expect at least triple the amount of meat in it.
