Gordon Ramsay has more manners than this chef. We went to Rosieās for a special birthday lunch for a local (weāre not from the area and we were taking our guest out for a treat) and chose it because of the terrific reviews. Boy, was that a mistake. It. Was. Awful. From the start we had concerns. Looked a bit crappy, fritters pre-made in the window, empty at 11.30am etc but we perservered because of the great reviews online. Wonāt be doing that again! The staff member who greeted us was lovely, helpful and a real asset to the place. Then, after taking our order, she left. And it all started to slide, wet-and-wild style, down the face of Mt Everest. Meals, which are pretty pricey, took ages to arrive. They ranged from OK to utterly inedible. They were gigantic but you know... who wants to eat a gigantic pile of whatās-it. Stodgy, almost cornless corn fritter smothered in sweet chilli sauce and not the promised relish, a slab of sandwich that hurt my stomach just to look at, with really thick-cut, commercially packaged ham, and a pretty average burger. The worst part, though, had nothing to do with the food. Our special birthday guest wanted a dessert. She raised her hand to get the attention of a staff member and said āexcuse meā. Not being regulars (and we never will be after this, be sure of that) we had no idea who was in what role. So it happened to be the chef who saw our special guest beckon. She pretty much spat venom across the room and said āIām the chef and Iām cookingā. Our guest is hard of hearing and didnāt catch what had been said, so the chef stormed out from behind the counter, charged over to our table and repeated herself in the nastiest tone I have ever heard in (supposed) hospitality. And then she said, āI will send someone overā. In the time it took her to leave her station, stomp over and upset the entire party, she probably could have just taken the order and smiled, and moaned about us afterward in private. Instead she made a spectacle of herself, made all of us and possibly other customers uncomfortable, and had one of the party worried about whether they should even eat the dessert after that. (She did because she was starving and hadnāt eaten her main at all. To make matters worse she insisted I try some just so that when she complained about it later, Iād understand what she was talking about. And she was right. It sucked pretty hard. Stodgy, dense, and with unexplained dark patches. Worst pancake I have ever tried.) The odd thing about the chef was that after shouting at us that she wasnāt a waitress, she delivered menus to other tables, took orders, brought food out and chatted with other customers. So you know... that was a bit confusing. Bit hard to know someone isnāt a waitress when theyāre performing all the tasks of one. Iād say the chef is also the owner. Because no sensible employer would put up with that sort of attitude unless it was offset by some remarkable kitchen skills. And itās not. Clearly this place has some loyal local custom. If youāre not one of them, stay away. No one should pay good money to be insulted. And to top it off, one of the dessert-eaters was pretty crook that night and another was crook all the way home in the car. Canāt be sure why, of course, but I know dessert-eater will remind me of it anytime I make a restaurant suggestion for the rest of my life. So in her words, after she spent some quality time in the dunny, āThanks, Rosieāsā....

I've been coming here for months now and I've never had a bad coffee from here. They always make my coffee perfect. I've been buying beans from here too, but I still come for their perfectly made barista coffees because they never taste as good when I make them myself! Not only were they quick to know my order, but they are so generous with their loyalty cards. They also smash out their coffee orders. They really know how to work that machine!
I can always see the food being made fresh every time I come in and everything always looks so delicious. Some of the things I have tried and recommend so far are Rosie's French toast muffin (comes with fresh cream and maple syrup), banana bread, lasagna, lemonade scones and the apple cinnamon muffins! There are also vegetarian options available. I've also seen some food I have never seen before / would like to know what is in it and the employees always give me a detailed explaination of what's inside so if you have dietary requirements, this is definitely your place. When you order something as well, the employees always offer to heat your food up if you order takeaway.
The staff here are friendly and are always happy to chat. I also believe Rosie's is pooch friendly as I often see people enjoying a coffee with their pups out the front in the sunshine.
I also have to mention the other day I was blown away by the generousity of Rosie - while I was waiting for my coffee and she was changing some muffins over, she gave me a freebie to take which was the delicious apple and cinnamon I mentioned above.
I highly recommend making Rosie's your go to for coffee's and cafe style food. I'm definitely looking forward to trying more of the delicious food here! The only negative is I always forget they are closed on a Monday and when I go there I have to return home and make my...
