NOTE - HIDDEN SURCHAGES: $1.50 FOR SHARING A MEAL $1.00 per EXTRA EMPTY PLATE Extra $1 for chilli dip over counter
Absolutely dissapointed :( I have been raving about this Roxy Kebabs to my folks for months, telling them how good it is and I personally recommend it over the main one in Roxbough Park (being bias as its in my area), I have been going here for the past 20 times since it opened, then have not been here in a month - Today was the day when I took my parents to eat at this Mill Park Roxys and tried to impress them. Lady who served us was a bit cold, but we overlooked this.. Food was great, but when we went to pay.. there was all this surcharges for extra plates, and a surcharge for sharing - an additional $7 for 3 people over 2 meals. We refused to pay the surcharge as we were not told about this when we ordered our meals... the stuff (suspect its the owners daughter in law) started to get rude and abrupt. This was definitely not something I wanted for my parents to witness, especially when I spoke this place up to them. After arguing over this, the Manager (who is the owners son) wanted us to get out, and said to us leave, forget paying the bill and never wants to sight us again as we are ban to ever set foot in his restaurant. I was humiliated and dissapointed, I had to quickly diffuse and reason with him that it was a misunderstanding and we will know for next time, please allow us to pay for our meals and exclude the surcharge as a kind gesture. Its not the cost, but the principal behind it.. dont advertise one price and suddenly come up with additional cost from nowhere.
After this, I will never set foot in this Roxy... I have been so many times to the original Roxy kebabs in Roxbough Park, and never had this issue. Also, everything on the Menu is $2-3 more then the Roxburgh park Roxy kebab, which usually should not be a problem - but make consumers aware of your additional cost and not give them a shock with the bill higher then expected!
UPDATE! After 3 months, went in to buy some dips over the counter, obviously the staff did not recognise me and their food is good, the other Roxy kebabs is quite far to travel too just for dips.. thought I would not get ripped off for something simple such as buying a medium and large dip over the counter as takeaway. Medium dip $6, Large dip $13 as advertised at the counter.. the expected total should be $19. I am told that would be $20.. I questioned why the extra $1 and told that I chose chilli for the small dip.. I was not going to bother with this and walked out. Lesson learnt once bitten twice shy, food is amazing, service and ripping of customers with hidden fees is extremely shocking. Its not about the additional cost, but the principal - don't advertise one price and catch the consumer with all these...
Read moreRoxy Kebabs used to be a favourite in my family. Years ago, we’d come by and eat dinner all the time, celebrating birthdays and sports achievements when I was younger. Eventually we moved on, though, and we haven’t been since. Hence why I was so excited to eat there tonight, but unfortunately, I don’t think I will ever go back.
It took them twenty-five minutes to take our order, and even though they’d read our order back to us multiple times, they still managed to mess it up. I had asked for a large lamb shish meal, and in return I was given a large chicken shish meal. Which would have been fine, if I’d actually ordered it. When I told them they’d given me the wrong order, they’d made excuses and told me that I was misremembering. Their gaslighting didn’t pan out as they expected though, as my entire family had heard me order and backed me up when I was asking for the dish I’d actually ordered. The waitress, after walking around doing literally nothing and looking confused for five to ten minutes, ended up telling me that it would take 50 minutes to cook me a lamb shish meal, so I should just take the dish.
I tried to eat the chicken, I really did, but it was just as bad as the service, and it was only cooked enough to avoid giving diners salmonella. The rest of my family said their lamb was tough and those who’d ordered chicken shish meals had the same complaints. After the attitude the staff had, we stayed quiet, paid, and left. Not even offered a refund or discount for the wrong order.
We ended up at La Porchetta to have dessert and coffee. Despite being much busier and more crowded, they had much better service and our food came out quicker. The staff were kind and did their jobs, which is what we expected when going to Roxy’s. A pity.
I don’t recommend going to Roxy’s at all, but if you are unfortunate enough to do so, just get a few dips and some bread. That’s literally the only edible thing there.
Note: we’d also asked for a glass multiple times, but never...

After driving an hour to visit Roxy Kebabs in Mill Park, I can confidently say it was worth the trip!
The service was satisfactory, but what truly stood out was the delightful atmosphere. The restaurant was impeccably clean, free from the typical kebab shop odors.
We ordered a mixed platter, mixed kebab, and chips accompanied by Turkish tea. I was impressed by the quality of the meat – it was fresh and generously served, not processed like many other places. The homemade bread was exceptional, possibly the best I’ve had, and the chips were cooked to perfection, not over-seasoned. The homemade sauces were super fresh and delicious, adding a fantastic flavour to the meal.
The seating options, both indoors and outdoors, created a comfortable dining ambiance, and parking was easy to find. To top it off, they offer traditional desserts that tempt your taste buds.
Overall, Roxy Kebabs is a hidden gem that combines quality, cleanliness, and a great dining experience. Highly recommended!
