Amazing Deli and great service. If you go here, write a review and get the ratings up 100%. Read some of the negative reviews and I think they all need to head to the supermarket for a sandwich. You pay for quality and you get it, hence the price.
The waitress made a small mistake in forgetting my coffee and they were so apologetic, even giving me a free cake. The blonde lady that works there (sorry forgot the name) is so genuine and If you love good Deliâs, this is up there with some of the other well known spots in Melbourne. Homemade salads and delicious bagels and sandwiches. My favourite is definitely the toasted focaccia with mozzarella, prosciutto and tomato. Freshly baked, salty, spongy and you can taste the rosemary come through in every bite. You have to try out the reuben also, traditional with THICK cut pastrami, mustard, rye bread, sauerkraut and russian dressing! Best Rueben I have tried and I have been to the best spots in town. I ALWAYS go for google ratings, but this is an exception - just go there and youâll see that they should be a...
Read moreTried their Nutella cookies $6 (if you donât like milky chocolate cookies, you wonât like this one as it is just too âmilkyâ!) and cinnamon babka $9 (a small piece for that price!) - my goodness I couldnât eat more than two mouthfuls it was sickly sweet! - I wonder how much sugar is in their desserts?! In times where people are pretty health conscious and wanting less sugar - this surely should be taken into consideration. Bought three tubs of their display salads (cauliflowers, roasted potatos and roasted brussel sprouts), came out with $73 bill! Wow!! The roasted potato and brussel sprouts were just bland, the cauliflower had a dressing thatâs similar to store bought âThousand Islandsâ salad dressing!! I wish I can go back and get a refund! Surely we wonât be coming back. Save your $ and bake your own cookies and make...
Read moreThis place seems like the latest in sandwiches. My 'Ruben' sandwich was eye watering expensive, tasty but not genius. Unfortunately there is no really comfortable seating, unless you want a stool in the small shop or a seat out with the traffic (lots of traffic on the corner of High and Kooyong). So I found a bench in a nearby church yard. There I unwrapped the sandwich, which I imagined, incorrectly, would be so huge for $22 that I asked for a carry bag (to carry home the uneaten half for dinner). Positives were that the sandwich didn't drip, the toasting was perfect and the sandwich was, overall enjoyable. The main negative was that the mustatd was not evenly spread, producing some moutfalls wild with mustard. So I've tried the latest spot now and although the sandwich was a very nice lunch, I don't need to go round...
