After looking through their extensive - and somewhat different to usual - menu, I settled on my personal usual; serve of Samosas to share, butter chicken, safron rice to share and garlic naan. The Samosas came out quickly enough and were really good with just a slight kick to them. But we weren't completely finished eating them, when the main came out. I'm sorry, but that's not right in my opinion, and it was a struggle to get all the dishes onto the table with the Samosas still there. However ... everything I ordered was really nice. The garlic naan had an avocado paste on it, which made for a slight change from the norm. The things I didn't like were ... Metal drinking cups for water, and there was a pungent smell of metal around us, from said cups. No change of both cutlery AND plates from entree to main; something I find kind of cheap and lazy for a restaurant. But the things I did like were the quick service and the delicious food. If you like Indian cuisine, but want a menu that stands out a little from the rest, this is a good choice. While I did stick to my usual, when I go back again, I will definitely choose something a little out of the ordinary like the good looking Dosa's that they served to others. I do recommend Baahubali. Reasonably priced, too.

Mid week Family outing thought we try out BaahuBali given it’s got 4+ star decent reviews. So here we go with my review. Place was empty given its mid week dinner time, we did call first to make the booking anyways. Ordered drinks, starters and mains. Serving Plates were thick melamine plastic which was bit of an odd choice given the price of each main dish is $20+, hard to imagine restaurant serving North Indian food without having lachha paranthas on the menu, we were asked to try out South Indian parantha, which is like roti chanai. Lamb Vindaloo sauce tasted more like Rogan Josh curry, Palak paneer was good and fish curry was below par given small prices of fish in it. Garlic Naans were soggy with oil and garlic, we did not eat them all, plain rotis were thankfully fine. The serving staff didn’t check once as to how our meals were going, given it was a quiet evening it would be good to get feedback from the customer. 3/5 from me, not returning again sorry. Bit pricey for the quality of food being served, understand location, labour cost impact but please do invest in quality ingredients and good preparation to make it a memorable time for the customers. Until next time, kindly beer with us. Cheers

Comments Post-October 2024 Food still good here and service quick, but they've put the prices up very recently and all i can say is that it is now extortionate to eat here. $8 for a plain rice. Plain Naan now $4. A lot of the starters are $25. The main curries are all $26+. I mean, really?! We're talking about simple curries and rice. Get a grip and bring back your prices to a reasonable level or people just won't eat here. Comments Pre-October 2024 This is my local go to for Indian meals. Food always fresh, plentiful and tasty. If you want hot curry, they can make it! Service efficient. Ambiance could be improved a bit however if you just focus on the food, all is good! I eat here regularly and am never disappointed. Just be sure to make it clear if you want specific dishes as entree or main as sometimes they bring out the food in an odd order. Be clear on what rice you want too, as they can serve you the more expensive rice even when not requested.

Review:- My experience at this restaurant was one of the worst ones I ever had in Melbourne. First of all Staff was not friendly, as they were not ready to arrange us a spacious table and they were pushing us to order soon as we sat as they wanted to close the kitchen though we still had an hour before the restaurant actually closed. I ordered starters and main course, and my starters were interrupted by the main course, I didn’t even finish it and they got the main course items and my Biriyani was super dry and not tasty at all. Tandoori Chicken was not properly marinated and it was served partially cooked. Corn soup was the only item that we enjoyed. Item prices advertised in the menu booklets are different than the actual price of the item and they didn’t inform that until we paid the bill and found out in the receipt. I am never recommending this place to anyone.

———————————————————————— Reply to the Owners feedback over my review: (as I can’t reply to the owner’s feedback ):- Thanks for your response and for the call to my friend to take down this review. However, just for your records, we called you for booking the table at 8:46pm and we reached there at 9pm as we told you about it. We have a screenshot of the time we called you, or you can check the time when we signed up at your restaurant. Secondly, the table that you were serving on did not completely seem enough for us considering the amount of food we were ordering. Moreover, if you wanted to take care of social distancing, why did you seat two big groups close to each other? Why not leave a table in between those two tables? Can’t understand the sanitising thing in there.

Thirdly, you told us that your kitchen is closing by 9:45 and your customer service staff insisted us to order twice before 9:45, which we did. Once we ordered, we were served starters and main course straight altogether, not enough time to have starters. If you want to work hard to secure customers after Covid, that you said that you were working hard to get customers, then you shouldn’t have served all the food altogether to let it get cold in front of us while we had just started on with starters. Such a shame!

Fourth thing, we were not told about the extra cost of soup by your staff when we asked for 1/2 serves of soup. Moreover, the cost of items mentioned in our invoice was more than the cost on your menu cards, which was also not informed to us before hand or even while billing. It was just told to us when we asked the manager about the increased price being added to our bill.

Fifth, just an hour and a half after returning home, my friend suffered with some stomach disorder which indicates some issues in your food. I too felt a funny stomach after some time on the same night. Kindly do multiple quality checks of your food before serving them to your customers if you wish to maintain your quality standards and...

On Friday evening, restaurant was completely dead,me n my fiancé visited and they shown a table to sit n we asked for other but they refused to provide and being told restaurant is completely booked!!! n said it’s friday ll get busy😇. We ordered chilli mushrooms which was good in taste and the quantity was bit generous!!

Ordered for garlic naan(it was without garlic but greased with butter and avocado sense less) if customers like avo on garlic bread as employee r owner said, have to mentioned in the menu!!

Ordered kadai paneer which was made with basic gravy and was not tasted as it should be.

Ordered one chicken dum biryani and one egg biryani. For sure the given chicken dum biryani was not dum n to be precise it should be Previous day’s for sure(employee says she had and it was good n proper biryani)* if it tasted like biryani I wouldn’t have had left as I got on my table and wouldn’t have paid for what I haven’t had!

I agree it happens sometimes but u guys need to understand customers feelings too n we came all the way from Preston to have authentic hyderabadi style biryani.

You guys disappointed us after a busy day at work, thought of having some nice time along with good dine. Unfortunately ruined it.

At most there’s no soap in the labeled customer toilets it’s a basic thing to have.

After the feedback from me a lady on the register offered me 10% discount on my bill where I refused n paid in full.

You don’t have to offer any discounts or freebies to the customers if you provide and give them best experience. Some ppl they don’t worry about money all they need is good experience.

I knew it hurts n carry bit of anger when u get 👎🏼 reviews, but customer spend money to have quality food with decent taste, when we fail to execute have to accept it.

Just imagine n you be in my shoe n think if you had faced such situation, of course you going to get anger n disappointment which is...
