Had an absolutely amazing time at Ruckers Hill on Valentine’s Night. The five-course meal was unreal, every dish was packed with flavor, and we left feeling completely satisfied. No way were we going home hungry. We loved it so much we went back last night for dinner, and once again, the food was on point. Different set menu but just as incredible, and we were more than full by the end.
Massive thanks to David and the whole team for making both nights so special. Massi, our Italian waiter, was full of energy and took care of us all night. There was also a lovely Brazilian staff member who was so warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Another team member looked after our wine and made sure our glasses were never empty, super attentive and on the ball the whole time.
The kitchen team absolutely smashed it. One of the chefs even came out personally to bring us our cake, which was such a nice touch. A really kind guy from Nepal in the kitchen took a moment to say hello as we passed, and that small interaction left a great impression.
By the time we left, it honestly felt like we were part of the place. David came over after service to personally thank us for coming in, and even the manager made sure we had a great time.
If you’re after amazing food, top service, and a restaurant that actually makes you feel welcome, Ruckers Hill is the place to go. Can’t wait to go back. These are just a couple of the...
Read moreIncredible dining experience! Love this new French bistro. Cozy Parisian vibes with amazing wine list and French inspired modern Australian cuisine. Highly recommend the 5-course tasting menu $79 - amazing value. The portion size, flavours and execution is just WOW.
The Baba ghanoush was light, creamy and flavourful. The arancini was nice however I didn’t try with the sugo because it was spicy so I didnt get the full experience. I absolutely loved the tuna with avocado, red onion and ponzu. Super tasty and refreshing. It really cleansed the palate for the next few meatier dishes. Loved the juicy pork belly with crispy skin paired with crisp apple salad.
The marbling on the entrecote steak with mushrooms and bordelaise sauce was chefs’ kiss. Perfectly cooked and so delicious. The steak included sides of salad and chips which was a complete surprise. I thought it was a mistake but staff said its included in the tasting menu. Usually sides are extra costs! Just wow!
The leafy green salad with house made dressing was so tasty I smashed it hahaha!! The chunky chips with garlic thyme parmesan with was nice however a tad too heavy with parmesan for my liking. Absolutely loved the lemon lime meringue tart with fresh dried raspberries was so tasty, just a little bit too sour but otherwise really yummy!
Highly recommend visiting this restaurant. Food, service, ambience...
Read moreMy partner and I visited RH for the first time, and I can honestly say it was an incredible experience overall. We were warmly greeted by the front-of-house team and directed upstairs.
To be honest, I was a little disappointed by the décor—it felt like it lacked inspiration and love, especially compared to the high standard set by the rest of the experience.
Now, let’s talk about the food: simply amazing. We opted for the five-course tasting menu, and the chef was wonderfully flexible. We had seen a different course listed on the website and wanted to swap one out—though the online menu hadn’t been updated, the chef was happy to accommodate us.
The food exceeded our expectations. The eggplant dip, oysters, arancini, soufflé—each dish was absolutely delicious. The lamb was cooked to perfection and packed with flavour.
We also ordered the entrecôte, which came a bit too rare for my liking (though my partner was fine with it), so we ended up sharing. As for dessert, the Basque cheesecake had great potential but could have used a different sauce and some fruit to balance it out.
Overall, it was a fantastic evening. We definitely recommend RH and look forward to coming back. Well...
