Let me start by saying I am Vietnamese and love Vietnamese food. So I am always looking out for Vietnamese restaurants to be my regular 'go to' spots to satisfy my cravings. I often go nearby Sunday restaurants or Deer Park stores on Ballarat Road. But I thought I'd give this Derrimut spot a shot as the reviews were quite positive. I am happy to be able to say this restaurant is now my new regular spot.

Food: for my first visit I ordered classic special beef pho and avocado smoothie. Both were good! Most pho places in the neighbouring suburbs and indeed the western suburbs are quite good. So I wouldn't say this place is in any way ahead of those other places. Instead I would say the food meets my expectations for the standard of Vietnamese food I am accustomed to.

Service: the lady who was my waitresses was seriously very good. So friendly, prompt and eager to serve. Many restaurants, particular Vietnamese ones have waiters who are just overworked and lacking any energy or friendless. But the workers here were awesome.

Atmophere: being surprise of all was the interior decoration and vibe. It was very intimate and romantic actually. Chill Vietnamese music played in the background and I really enjoyed just sitting and chilling there. Very surprised.

I will definitely be coming here as my regular spot to have Viet food for myself and family.

Thank you very much for existing. I hope all Derrimut people come can try...

As soo as you walk in, staff weren't very welcoming, especially the women with glasses at the front desk. For some reason she seemed angry and annoyed, and gave off negative vibes. Atmosphere of restaurant is a little lack lustre, quiet, and a little towards the cold side. It took a while for someone to come and take our order so I had to grab someones attention out of my convenience. Food is okay, standard, what you would normally expect, but would rather spend my hard earned money and time elsewhere with better service and food. I'm also shocked that despite ordering coffee earlier in the day, we were refused access to toilets no more than one hour later. I believe they don't care about the welfare of their customers, nor if they care whether they want the same customers returning to their restaurant. Its a shame that they would't make an exception for my partner who had to go to the toilet. Feel sorry for someone in an emergency who ends up in the same situation where they cant access the toilet when needed. Won't be visiting here again as it has made a lasting negative impression on both me...

Saigon Pho in Derrimut is hands down one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the west! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly simmered broth and herbs hits you—instantly comforting. Their pho is next level—especially the combination pho, which comes with a generous mix of rare beef, brisket, beef balls, and tendon. The broth is clear, rich, and full of flavour, clearly simmered for hours.

Their menu has so much variety beyond pho. The grilled lemongrass pork with broken rice is perfectly marinated and chargrilled, served with fresh pickled veg and a fried egg—so satisfying! The rice paper rolls are light, fresh, and packed with prawns and pork, served with a tasty hoisin-peanut sauce. One of my favourites is the salt and pepper squid—crispy, seasoned beautifully, and cooked just right.

Portions are generous, everything tastes authentic, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and quick with service. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeaway, Saigon Pho delivers every time. Highly recommend for anyone craving proper Vietnamese food...

We ordered "special beef pho" Vietnamese pan cake, sweet sour soup, "canh Chua" and sea food fried noodles. The pho were salty, we had to ask for boil water to dilute the soup. Lack flavours of pho. Second dish is Vietnamese pan cake, with these dish i hated when cooks want to be creative. "Filled with chop roast pork and pawn?" Firstly there are no connection between the filling and the skin. Secondly, the skin pancake were pre cook and not freshly cook, when ordered the skin is then deep fry in a pan of oil to get one size crunchy, but leaving the whole inside so oily. Third dish is the seafood crispy noodle, taste is ok but lack in originality, boring ginger and spring union favour. Seafood were all package frozen seafood. Lastly, sweet sour soup with fish."canh Chua ca." It has the looks but non of the authentic flavours. It lacks all the herbs which make the dish, the attractive colour and spices. Pricing is ok....
