Samsara — Restaurant in Melbourne

Had dinner here tonight . Service is friendly, and they did listen to our requests, but it seems to lack a bit of professional attentiveness to keep water glasses filled... And ice available.. Entrees were great. Good dips, excellent warm pitas and Turkish bread. Wonderful lamb kofta.. Mains were OK. Lamb shish was good and very well spiced but for a dish that is presented as Lamb and Potatoes... not alot of potatoes and some cooked vegetables mixed in with fresh vegetables which we personally think should be one or the other.... Chicken shish was nice and tender but lacked the great taste and spice of the lamb. Also could have had more yoghurt sauce on top. This place has been around for years and you can tell......bathrooms are clean but dated....some cracks in plasterwork in the dinning room aswell. All in all it was nice but...

We had a fantastic evening with really delicious food, good wine and a great service. The owner Pierre was very welcoming and kind and the staff was excellent having Shanon as our waitress, very polite, attentive and extremely efficient. The food was yummy. Starting with mezzes, meatballs, different dips, hummus, egg plant with mint yougurt and pomegranate seeds,baba ganoush and pitas and different breads. Delicious! I loved the beef shish kebab cooked to perfection and would highly recommend it. The different types of desserts were simply scrumptious, especially the baklavas! This is an amazing place where you can indulge fantastic delights in relaxed ambience and enjoy a wonderful culinary experience.We will definitely come back,having discovered this little gem for delicious...

Wow - we were blown away by the food and service. We had the vegetarian banquet and it was so delicious and heaps of food. I honestly had too many favourite dishes, such a variety of flavours.

The staff were amazing, fast and very personable. We were always looked after and drinks topped up. They recognized my husband who had been there a few times now and he’s always been really happy eating at Samsara.

They told us to call ahead if we wanted the vegetarian option again so they can be even more prepared. I don't know how it could get better but I'm happy to take up the challenge.
