The fish and chips I had were nothing short of spectacular, an experience that redefined the classic British staple for me. The fish was a masterpiece in itself—perfectly golden and crisp on the outside, with a delicate, flaky interior that melted in my mouth. The batter had just the right crunch, light yet flavorful, complementing the natural sweetness of the fish without overpowering it. The chips were equally impressive—thick-cut, golden-brown, and wonderfully fluffy on the inside, with a crisp exterior that hinted at their careful preparation. They had the perfect balance of saltiness and richness, tasting fresh and perfectly seasoned. The accompanying tartar sauce was creamy and tangy, a perfect partner to the fish, while the optional malt vinegar added a bright, acidic kick that enhanced every bite. Everything was served piping hot, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. Every element on the plate felt thoughtfully crafted, from the texture to the flavors. It's a challenge sometimes to find good "F&C's" in Melbourne, but our visit here in mid Jan 2023 has been one of our better ones to date in terms of food quality, selection of choices, and service from staff.

Fried Fish, Battered Dogs, Dim Sum's and Potato cakes were all very enjoyable. Impressive selection of old-school (as well as some new-school) milkshake flavours: my Spearmint shake gave me a Ratatouille-esque flashback.

Staff were helpful, professional and relaxed, accomodating all our questions and reasonable requests.

We sat and ate most of our meal in front of the store after a beach visit. There's just one table with a couple of chairs, but it worked for us.

The only minor downsides of note: Chips were slightly over-crisp / slightly burnt with not enough body, but were well-above average and OK if you prefer your chips "well done".

Such a beautiful ‘Welcome’ when I went into ‘Seafood Grill Fish & Chippery’- by Christopher & Brandon. Modern, Clean & Service Excellence from this team, you can be assured you will be served with a smile & genuine level of attention. Lovely cafe chairs & tables outside, for those who want to eat straight away. Seriously, the Fresh Flake was recommended, & I’m so glad I tried this. I ordered the Flake with Sweet Potato Chips. Absolutely the best I have ever had- the fish was a decent thickness, thoroughly enjoyed, and for once, ‘I felt the batter wasn’t overtaking the fish in thickness’, also no grease! Highly recommend this choice, with the sweet potato chips cooked to perfection. Will definitely go back to try other fish options & ‘work my way through the menu’.
