Seaford Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Melbourne

DO NOT GO HERE ! Waited 35 minutes to get my order of 2 pieces of flakes/ 2 dim Sims / 2 potato cakes with chips !!! Had 5 staff who just worked soooo slow , one staff just hung around doing nothing. One working at burner , one occasionally serving customers, one coating fish with batter without gloves who I saw wiping his nose and face with his hands several times while handling the fish !, one emptying bags of frozen chips ..all just doing it at snails pace while customers were overcrowding out the door. Only one main staff member cooking at the fryers ,the others just doing nothing and trying to look busy but looked lost. Customer's orders waiting to be picked up were left on the counter losing their heat as they had no heating bar to place them in ! No servettes whatsoever for customers ! Witnessed a customer being called her order only to find they hadn't finished cooking her potato cakes but had already wrapped her order anyway then left it up on the counter to get cold while she waited. Eventually they unwrapped her order, placed her cooked potato cakes and she left. 10 minutes later they called her number for her Souvlaki but she had already left ! Also witnessed potato cakes cooked and sat up on the shelf above the fryers that had been there for goodness knows how long and saw one of the staff handle some of them with his hands ( no gloves ) squeezing each of them and deciding to throw some of the into someone's order ! Vile ! Absoulutely terrible customer service ! These people I believe are recent new owners who obviously have no idea how to run a food business , food health and hygiene and good customer service. Overpriced too. Very disgusted with their food hygiene and how they handle their food without gloves and wipe their noses/faces on...

Food was basically unedible!!!! I live in Seaford and have had some major food ups and downs with this store. Start of summer and thought I might give them another chance. My partner went with my son to get two fish packs and burger pack, I set up at the beach for us to enjoy our $40 lunch....food only.... and was bitterley disappointed! Grilled fish was ok, mind you I was starving! Most food does taste good when you are starving!...but the rest was disgusting! The hand cut chips were soggy and unsalted, which has been an issue with this store long term. The thing that really annoyed me was that the salad was put in with the chips and fish! They charge a nice price for the option of a salad and then to put it in with the hot fish and chips is just plain unacceptable, yummy 😋 soggy salad. I called the manager and he was trying to do his best to be consilitray whilst trying to say my partner was in a hurry and it was busy and and ..... excuses...trying to pass the buck! And he would replace the salad. My partner was not in a hurry and came to the beach straight away. As I said to him I live locally, it is disappointing that I can’t just come to the local fish and chip store and buy well made food and trust it will deliver, especially considering how many be businesses are offering great food and service in the area. In the end, the manager did offer to replace the salad when I was next in and the soggy scallop but the point is... I am hungry now and the money wasted on the food he produced, could have been spent at the local chicken and chip store who always deliver amazing food without fail and I wouldn’t be sitting on the...

Not impressed with this place at all. Ordered & paid for a twin pack inc 2 pieces of fish or so it was meant too..... got home to sit down to eat and no fish 🤷‍♀️ everything else was there but no fish. How do you forget the main product in the pack???

So we rang to advise and was offered a refund or to come get replacement order. We accepted replacement order so hopped back in car to go and collect. When i got back there my redo order was not known about as staff had forgotten to write down - excuse given was oh were busy. No apology just we were busy and that was after I spoke to 3 people to try and figure out what happened......

Now I don't care if you are busy, it's your job to write down orders made on phone is it Not? It's also a good idea to make sure you complete order as paid for in the first place..... Whilst i appreciate you are busy and everyone is stressed during these times, this kind of service and lack of an apology from the 4 staff i had to speak to, to even get my oreder re done was not acceptable. Least I got an apology for the wait from the gentleman in the store as he handed me my order finally and yes it had the fish in it thankfully. Hopefully I was the only one to get short changed from them this weekend.

Improve your game as with 2 fish shops in area we will be using the other one...
