Almost unbelievable....food ordered on Ubereats at 6.40pm. EST delivery time was an hour later for one pad Thai & one chicken skewers. The Uber driver cancelled order as turned up & food still wasn’t ready (after over an hour at this point). I call restaurant & they apologised & told me I had to place order again through ubereats app but it would be delivered straight away as food was ready. I make the order again & app tells me I have to wait another hour. I waited 15mins for this to update & no progress. Call restaurant again, another apology & said he will mark the order ready to collect. I see it update, I see the Uber driver waiting in the restaurant for 15mins for the order to be “wrapped up” then again at the 2 hour mark second order is cancelled. I call restaurant asking what’s going on. They seemed completely confused that I had now waited 2 hours & still no food??????!!!!!! Mind blowing. There are no customers in the restaurant 🤷🏻♀️ Appalling service. It used to be a great little local. Will never go back & will share...
Read moreUse to come to the Thai beach cafe a lot and always thought it had some of the nicest thai food in Melbourne.
Tried it again this week for the first time in about 3 years and wow this place has gone downhill!
The food was very bland and flavourless. Had a noodle dish and it contained more of onion and capsicum than noodles and very sad looking pieces of chicken. We also had the laksa which soup just tasted like bland, diluted, slightly warmed coconut milk. The only flavour it had came from, the once again a heaps of partially cooked onion and capsicum with very little noodles and some squiggly carrot pieces.
I have no idea how they have gone so wrong over the last few years. I'm very sad writing this. It use to be a resturant I loved and would drive out of my way to get, but now I don't even know if I can bring myself to go back.
I honestly think I could have made more flavourful food from a premade thai meal kit from Coles.
I really hope they go back to making food with love like...
Read moreWe turned up for a late dinner and while most other places were closed or closing, we expected to be turned away here too but we were welcomed to take a seat and order, the server immediately cleaned our table and gave us menus, all with a smile and pleasant demeanour. We hadn’t eaten here before but we ordered quickly (4 main meals and 2 entrees) as we knew it was a bit late, but they seemed happy for our business regardless and our meals came out quickly. All meals were enjoyed, I had a satay dish, now the satay was a different flavour than I’m used to as a Thai satay but I still enjoyed it, one of the other dishes was the green curry (which I ate some of) and I must say that it was one of the best green curries I’ve had in a long time, I know green curry is a pretty “common” dish now but nonetheless this one is delicious, and I’ll be back to order this for myself. Thank you Thai Beach Cafe for being welcoming and...
