Horrendous experience. My wife and I decided to order take away from this restaurant and the order went through at 7.30pm. We waited until 8.30pm to receive notification that our food was ready and was on its way. At 9.00pm, with the food not yet arrived, (our home is less than 10 min away) we called the restaurant for an update. The Lady on the phone assured us our food was indeed on its way but double checked by putting us on hold to call the driver. After 5 min of being on hold she confirmed it was with the driver and moments from our house. 9.30pm and still no food, so we attempted to call the restaurant back and demand an explaination. No one picked up the numerous phone calls, that was until we changed the phone we called off and the same lady picked up only to put me straight back on hold when she realised it was us. After another 5 min on hold the phone was disconnected. Throughout the next half an hour we tried to get in contact with the restaurant to no avail, until finally the phone was picked up just after 10.00pm by a man claiming to be the manager. He told us the food was only just now being prepared and that it was about to be sent to our house. When pressed on why the female working the phones had outright lied to us and dodged our repeated calls for the last hour and a half he claimed we must have misheard her, but offered us a 50% discount on our NEXT order! (As if we would ever put ourselves through this experience again!) Resigned to waiting and frankly praying our food would arrive, as by this time other restaurants had stopped taking orders, the food finally arrived at our house at 10.30pm, 3 hours after the order was placed, and, imagine my shock, the currys we ordered were stone cold, the papadums where smashed into pieces so small they could be mistaken for rice, and our drinks were nowhere to be seen. The driver apologised for the missing drinks and said he would return with them by going to a shop and buying them. However, 5 min later he returned and said nothing was open, even though we live not 2 min away from a 7/11 that he had to pass to get to us. We just gave up and told him to go.
This is by far the worst experience I have ever had ordering from a restaurant. DO NOT GIVE THIS SHAM OF A RESTAURANT YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! If Gordan Ramsey ever did a season of Kitchen Nightmares in Australia this would be...
Read moreI would not recommend this awful restaurant to anyone. We went there with friends on 23/10/16 Saturday night the night started ok, except for the fact that we consistently had to ask for water for the table which tasted like dirt, so do not expect efficient table service as there is none. We moved onto mains and waited for well over an 1hr and a half as it was clear our table had been forgotten and when queried all of a sudden our food which was only luke warm and good luck in finding any meat it was all sauce! We ordered 3 mains with rice and bread for 4 people and ended up with 1 tablespoon of each dish 3 tablespoons of rice and that was your main meal per adult!....completely not worth you're money! This is what we waited over an hour for. We raised this with the Manager/Owner Sha who didn't seem to care about addressing this as he was to busy in addressing the needs of the Indian clientele, he offered us in the end free deserts & coffee but didn't oversee the offer to ensure we ended the night on a high note, so yet again what was served did not come out as described in the menu and was completly inedible and was sent back!!! The coffee was only passable! As we went to pay in which I feel we should not have paid for the mains at all as the patrons around us were given a much larger serve in their mains than we did so the inconsistencies in the serving sizes are ridiculous and dining there is like dining in a morgue the atmosphere is grim not a smile on any of the serving staff faces and there were many there!....so perhaps that's a clear reflection of the Manager in charge as he didn't even have the decency to come out and finalize our bill and try and salvage the situation with our party!.....so overall I would recommend it and that you choose from either the Thai, South American, Italian or Japanese restaurant that operate in the same complex where you recieve the high quality service you're money is paying for and stay away from this POOR EXCUSE of an Indian Restaurant!! Ohhh and I forgot to tell you that the Manager did explain that you're main meal dishes have a regulation of x5 small bite size pieces of meat in your main meals which doesn't even equal a full chicken breast so I would recommend that your $20 would be better spent by buying a pack of chicken breasts at Woolies and be...
Read morePay 545 dollars We dined at Shavans today to celebrate a birthday, and our experience was unfortunately disappointing. Despite arriving a bit late, the staff initially assured us they would accommodate us as long as we provided our order promptly. We ordered starters and requested 15 minutes to decide on our main courses, to which they agreed.
However, our experience quickly deteriorated. When the starters were served on sizzling plates, they were placed dangerously close without any warning. As a result, I burned my finger. Instead of offering an apology, the staff argued that it was my fault, which was both unprofessional and disheartening.
Throughout the meal, the staff's presence was intrusive; they hovered around our table, failed to provide adequate cutlery or glasses, and generally did not attend to our needs properly. Despite these issues, we chose to overlook them as it was a special occasion for my wife.
The situation worsened at the end of the meal. While checking the bill, a staff member made a disparaging comment about my scrutiny, questioning why I was checking the bill and implying that we were behaving as if shopping at a vegetable market. When I mentioned the burnt finger incident again, the staff dismissed it, claiming it was not their fault and reprimanded me for raising the issue.
Overall, our experience at Shavans was marred by inadequate service and unprofessional behavior from the staff. This left us feeling quite disappointed, especially given the special nature...
