Came in with my deaf mother who normally has no troubles ordering anywhere else and always gets what she asked for, well not here the lady who served us obviously misunderstood what my mum wanted and gave us two of the item instead of just one. Was told about it before the plate hit the table and asked for our money back as anyone would do, the lady who served us then came up with the receipt trying to argue and get us to just take the extra food away which my mother refused. The lady then cracked it and said next time get someone who can talk to come to order so disgusting and disrespectful considering she was clearly from overseas with an accent you would think they're was some compassion but no boycott this place I even said I would not be returning and she continued to have a bad attitude and the grease us off while walking in and out of the back if I could give zero stars I would Shingle inn I would suggest training your staff better when dealing with a complaint as she was rude as soon as she heard it and could not believe that she said "get someone who can talk to order next time" when my mum makes it very obvious she is deaf and tries her hardest to communicate
Food was below average and my smoothie was tasteless so no real reason to come back anyway
Also the lady that did all of this was seen putting and old scoop of ice cream that was obviously put on the side of a dessert and sitting out for who knows how long she put it back into the icecream tub someone needs a health inspector...

A really lovely place to relax for a meal with some healthy options on the menu ranging from savory to sweet desserts with great table service from friendly staff and they know how to make a really good coffee too.
SEATING: You can get away from the crowds in the comfy booths at the back of the cafe or sit out the front at the tables and watch the world go by.
FOOD. My son had the Eggs Benedict with salmon & cherry tomatoes which he was pleased with and I ordered the Smashed Avocado with goat cheese & hash browns.
I asked for one egg as I wasn't overly hungry and one little egg was what I received and what an unimpressive dish it made. I traded a hash brown for the tomatoes from my sons plate which sort of improved the look of my dish.
COFFEE. EDITED 17/09/24. We ordered our large coffees' at the same time as our meals but for them to be in "take out" cups as we knew we'd finish the meal before the coffee. Our coffee's arrived after our meal but they were good and hot, ordering them in "Take out" cups confused them which was our fault.
STAFF. The staff are lovely, very helpful and pleasant.
OVERALL. EDIT: 17/09/24. We have since visited this cafe a few more times and has improved greatly and we will definitely go again.
They also play quiet music or none at all which is wonderful as you can have a conversation without having to yell or just hear the cafe noises which is nice on it's...
Read moreI came here to try a new cafe and to grab a snack but was unfortunately left with a terrible taste in my mouth both metaphorically and literally. The lady who took my order (seemed to be a manager maybe) had a very bad attitude. She explained how they no longer have the servings of hash browns as they used to due to the shortage, which is fine. However, as she asked if I still wanted to order two, and I said yes, she smirked, made a face and asked "are you sure?". I nodded and she said along the lines of "okay it's fine whatever you want". After ordering the coffee, she read through the order for confirmation, and once again made a judgemental comment on the hash browns, "you want two?" and laughed. No one deserves to be judged on what they decide to order, and to judge as an face of your business is terrible customer service and makes your business look bad. No one knows what the customers might be doing or feeling, which in my case, was buying a snack for my friend as well, but was judged for doing so. Reading the other reviews, this seems to be a reoccurring issue with the same staff member, and the business needs to look deeper into their training maybe. And not that it even compares to the previous interaction, the coffee I ordered was so hot that it burned my mouth, I also paid extra for hazelnut but it wasn't added to the coffee. I don't think the hazelnut syrup could've saved how burnt the...
