Tucked away in an unassuming corner, there's a Thai restaurant that might not catch your eye at first glance. But don't let the modest storefront fool youāthe food inside is a journey of authentic Thai flavours that will leave you wanting more.
The restaurant is a cozy spot, comfortably accommodating around 30-40 pax at a time. Despite its size, the space is impeccably tidy and clean, making it a pleasant dining environment. The warm, genuine smile of the owner as they greet you sets the tone for a welcoming and enjoyable meal.
The menu, while not extensive, covers all the essential Thai dishes you would expect. On a quiet Friday evening, likely quieter due to the holiday season, the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed dinner for two.
Our culinary adventure began with Tom Yum with Mixed Seafood and Calamari, followed by Fried Rice with Shrimp Paste, and Thai Basil with Beef Mince for sharing. The Tom Yum was a standoutācreamy and brimming with the fresh taste of seafood, enhanced by the fragrant notes of lemongrass. The Fried Rice with Shrimp Paste also hit all the right notes for our taste buds. The Thai Basil with Beef Mince, though slightly sweeter than expected, was still enjoyable.
This dining experience at this hidden gem of a Thai restaurant left us both satisfied and eager to return. For anyone seeking delicious and authentic Thai cuisine, this place is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointing and almost inedible. I do not recommend the food from here, at least not through food delivery services, even after I researched and chose somewhere with positive reviews. After a long day of travel, a delicious Pad Thai was what I was chasing. My order arrived 25 minutes after the initial 30 minute wait. The Roti was actually the worst I have ever seen. It was like a hard piece of cardboard, almost laughable. I moved onto opening my drink, which felt like it had never been in a fridge (although it was packaged in with the hot food, so maybe that was why). Saving the best until last, the Pad Thai, yuck. It was honestly the most stodgy, gluey Pad Thai I have ever bought. The chicken tasted as though it had been reheated and had gristly bits in the 2 pieces I tried. As I had an important meeting the next day, I ate around the chicken because I felt it had the potential to have nasty repercussions! There was very minimal flavour, and it was just disappointing. Probably irrelevant at this point, but despite selecting the box for needing cutlery, and also adding it to the notes, I did not receive anything to eat my meal with. This was the biggest waste of $40 if I do say so! Never write Google Reviews, but this was next level disappointing, so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat an incredibly inviting little place this is. Hi it's Uncle Bob here again for another little review.
The amazing smells that fill this little restaurant when I arrive to collect deliveries is difficult to describe and really must be experienced to be appreciated. The atmosphere is quiet and cosy and so intimate that you can see the amazing chef at work on the masterpiece that will, in a few moments, be on your plate.
The demeanour of the owner is very lovely and soft spoken, with fantastic attention to every detail. I have no problem recommending everyone come and try St. Albans Thai.
