Gami Chicken & Beer - St Albans — Restaurant in Melbourne

Made an online order Friday night and when it arrived, half the food items and sides were missing - it was clear that no one had bothered to double check the order before it was sent off. It also arrived late and the items were cold and stale upon consumption and there was also no way to get in touch with the store as no one picks up their listed contact number.

Normally Gami is amazing and delicious, however due to poor management and not having enough staff, or properly trained staff on deck to handle their busy hours, this store fails in meeting the high expectations that Gami fans have cultivated prior through dining at other franchises. Like seriously, if you’re aware you’re running an opening promotion with delivery and discounts, of course you’re gonna get flooded with orders, particularly on weekends.

Gami as a brand I’d highly recommend to anyone with tastebuds, but until this restaurant sorts its stuff out, I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole. Unless the store is dead and literally no one is waiting so they can ensure they get the order correctly and with quality,...

I placed an order through the app and went in store to go pick it up at the time it said it would be ready. The order status was still on "preparing" so I thought maybe they were busy so I waited a little bit more... 10 minutes past and still nothing so I decided to go check how much longer it would be only to find out that my order was ready ages ago and had been sitting there for the past 10 minutes while I was sitting in store waiting. It wasn't even busy (only one other group waiting in store) and no one even bothered to check with me what I was waiting for. Even now as I am typing this review after driving home with my food, the app still says my order is being prepared.

To make things worse, when I got home I discovered that items were MISSING from my order even though the girl who handed it to me seemed to "check" the docket. Food was so great. The Deli burger was massive and juicy and so full of flavours and the chips you get with them are the best chips I've had thus far. The chicken wings were well done and juicy and the soy garlic sauce will be my regular sauce from here on out. The prawn Mandu were giant and stuffed full of prawns which was a very pleasant surprise. They have qr code menus which made ordering easy because you can order and pay without leaving table or bothering staff (went in a group of 6). The staff were attentive and friendly and wonderfully efficient. Got to book a table for a group.
