When it comes to finding authentic Vietnamese food, Street Pho in Noble Park stands out as a top contender. Recently, I had the chance to dine there for an early dinner, and it was an experience worth sharing. With its cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and exceptional food, this restaurant delivers on every level.
Arriving at 4:30 pm, I was greeted by a welcoming and relaxed vibe. The early timing meant no wait for a table, allowing me to enjoy the meal without any rush. As a fan of Vietnamese cuisine, I couldn’t wait to dive into the menu. For my meal, I chose the combination beef pho, a selection of three different spring rolls (beef, chicken, and prawn), and rounded off the experience with a dessert drink I hadn’t tried before—the Che Ba Mau.
I kicked off my meal with a plate of spring rolls, and they were simply delightful. Street Pho typically serves these as a set of six, but I asked if they could mix it up so I could try one of each flavor: beef, chicken, and prawn. To my delight, the staff happily accommodated my request without hesitation.
Each spring roll was served fresh and crispy, with a golden-brown exterior that was fried to perfection. The fillings were well-seasoned, flavorful, and moist, striking the ideal balance between savory and satisfying. Pairing the crunchy exterior with the soft interior made every bite a treat. This thoughtful customization by the staff elevated the experience and showed how committed they are to providing excellent service.
Pho That Warms the Soul
Next came the combination beef pho, a dish that has a special place in my heart. The moment the bowl arrived, the fragrant aroma of the broth was enough to make my mouth water. One sip of the broth confirmed that it was crafted with care—a rich, flavorful base that felt both hearty and comforting.
The tender slices of beef, along with other cuts of meat, added substance to the dish without overwhelming it. The noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, with just enough chewiness to complement the other ingredients. I decided to add some chili, and the spicy kick took the dish to another level. It wasn’t overpowering but added a layer of boldness that made the meal even more enjoyable.
This pho felt like a warm hug in a bowl—exactly what you want from a classic Vietnamese dish.
Discovering the Che Ba Mau
For dessert, I decided to venture into uncharted territory with the Che Ba Mau, also known as the three-color drink. This Vietnamese classic features layers of sweetened mung beans, red beans, pandan jelly, coconut milk, and crushed ice. It’s a drink that doubles as a dessert, and as someone who had never tried it before, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
The first sip was a revelation. The combination of textures—from the creamy coconut milk to the chewy jelly and soft beans—was unlike anything I’d experienced before. The sweetness was perfectly balanced, and the crushed ice added a refreshing element that made it the perfect way to end the meal.
Now, I know this might be controversial, but I’d go so far as to say that Che Ba Mau is better than boba. While boba drinks are undoubtedly delicious and trendy, Che Ba Mau has a depth of flavor and uniqueness that I find more exciting. If you haven’t tried it yet, I’d highly recommend giving it a shot—it just might become your new favorite too.
A+ Service and Ambience
What made this meal even more memorable was the outstanding service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. From accommodating my special request for the spring rolls to ensuring my dishes arrived promptly, they went above and beyond to make me feel valued as a customer.
Despite the food being served quickly, there was no compromise on quality. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and full of flavor, a testament to the efficiency and skill of the kitchen team.
The restaurant itself had a clean and inviting design, with tasteful decor that added to the...
Read moreMy first week here at Noble Park and it's a massive transition from the Melbourne CBD life. My bestie Pat, who has a Chinese background, was visiting me for dinner. Being new to the place, I was perplexed on how to approach the restaurant culture that Noble Park has to offer. I asked my Aussie housemates about the best Asian restaurant, and they suggested me Street Pho. It turns out; Street Pho is an excellent place which offers gratifying food for a value for money deal.
My first time I am trying Pho, Yes! Its been 1.5 years in Melbourne and my first Pho at this part of the town. As I stepped inside the store, the strong smell of the meat hit my face and at first I didn't like it at all. Pat told me it's the smell of the broth and it's very typical. The staff was very amicable, especially the Vietnamese guy who was patient enough to explain how to eat the Pho.
First, they served us with the bean sprouts, chili, lemon, and basil leaves. I have ordered the Chicken and Beef Pho; Pat ordered the Beef and Beef and Beef Brisket Pho. Priced at a reasonable $12, I fell in love with the dish instantly. As instructed by the staff, I have squeezed the fresh lemon juice into the soup, added some sauce and some chili flakes.
The beef was well cooked, and it was delicious. I liked the combination of Chicken and Beef, both of my favorite meat together. I tasted the beef brisket, the slow-cooked breast section of the flesh, was yummylicious.
The store closes at 9 PM, which is a downside if you are looking for late-night dinner. They don't accept card, and it's a cash-only restaurant. There is a CommonWealth Bank ATM right across the street if in case you need some cash. The restaurant is well maintained and has a well-lit ambiance. We had a lovely time at Street Pho and would love to...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER. This used to be my favourite place to go to for dinner. However I went with a friend last week to get pho and rice with chicken and was absolutely MORTIFIED at the service. We received our entree in a timely manner however 30 minutes had passed and our main meal hadn't arrived. My friend then goes and asks, the female employee says she'll check and comes back 10 minutes later saying the chicken is unavailable and only pork is available. My pho came and I had finished eating when the same employee comes again and says the PORK WAS UNAVAILABLE...this was 50 minutes into our visit and my friend had not received any food. She then orders noodles to which the employee says okay to. In the end no food arrived and we were told that we never ordered any noodles and a male employee told us to "just get out" for causing a fuss and said "I hope I don't see...
