It’s been a long time since i’ve had as good GENUINE REAL FLAVORSOME Italian as we did tonight @sugo67. Incredible food, absolutely attentive wait service, I think it’s even a husband and wife team in the kitchen making it all happen. No really. This place is really REALLY good  - the food is packed full of flavour. Did i say it tasted great? You’ve figured that out by now. I had the Spagettii seafood marinara - sublime basted in white wine, garlic, salt and pepper and bathed in butter… the last strands were taunting me to lick the plate - seriously… i so wanted to. Fresh ingredients, great large king prawns, calamari and tiny octopus cooked so well. Other dishes our guests had included an incredibly delicious classic - the Lasagna… generous portion so old fashioned i thought i was in Tuscany. Rich flavour topped with fresh sliced parmesan to your table. the Napoi base flavour was to die for, the Cannelloni much the same. Deserts and sweet treats were a plenty the Lumberjack and Nuttela calzone pizza combo are waiting for me upon my return, we had time constraints and had to fly. So - if you feel like real Italian food  - real genuine home made meals that taste incredible - and you are well aware that La Porchetta or Sofia’s just don’t quite cut the mustard… Sugo 67 is worth the drive. My wife and i drove from Beaumaris 50 minutes to eat here and it was worth every moment. We will definitely be back.

I went down to Mornington to visit a friend over the long weekend and we jumped on the first cafe we walked by with some available outdoor seating (dog was in tow). No such thing as all day breakfast which was upsetting as we arrived bang on 12 and had to resort to pizza not that you really had to twist anyone’s arm. I had a Margherita and a Bondi chai (random combination I know). That was my first time trying this blend so I’m not sure if it’s just overly sweet or if they added a syrup to it but it was definitely on the sweet side. I very much enjoyed it though until I got to the bottom as it clearly wasn’t well mixed and then became sickly. The pizza itself I didn’t mind although I wouldn’t necessarily go back for round 2. Majority of their lunch menu consists of pizzas which is interesting given DOC is located nearby and is obviously very renowned. Price wise not too bad but they did advertise a 15% public holiday surcharge. There wasn’t a lot of service for said surcharge with no one bringing us cutlery, napkins or water (I had to go inside and ask). Overall a lively atmosphere and satisfying choice

We don’t live in Mornington, but were regular customers, however we won’t be coming back! Trying to keep my body in ketosis, so ordered the scrambled eggs on sourdough (with a side of bacon), but asked to swap out the sourdough with a carb free option (maybe an extra egg or two or some spinach?) Was told the chef wouldn’t do it. Bacon and eggs came out and was greeted by a half empty plate with sloppy eggs and tough scraps of bacon. Cost: $16 for a few sloppy eggs and an extra $5 for scraps of bacon.

We visited this restaurant today after farewelling my father who died on Sunday. We chose it for coffees and a light snack because my parents had frequented the restaurant many times and it was one of their favourites. Needless to say, my parents had spent a lot of their money over the years at this establishment. We were told we only had 45min at the table because of a reservation which was perfectly fine for us and we explained we would leave before the required time. But the 2 staff members who served us were extremely rude and both seemed very annoyed that they might have to clean and reset the table. As my elderly mother was full of grief, it was explained very politely and quietly the circumstances of why we were there. There was no empathy at all, just utter rudeness. At the end, well before we needed to leave, and after my elderly mother and daughter had left, I asked the 2 waitresses to think about how they had treated my mother and to have some empathy. One of the waitresses actually smirked. I hope that training for the staff here improves. My family will never return to this restaurant again. The staff made an extremely sad day even worse and the 2 waiting staff should be totally ashamed...
