Taiko Sushi — Restaurant in Melbourne

Hmm not great.

We ate in. Takoyaki was cold in the middle. Guessing it was fried from frozen and not freshly made.

Katsu and katsu Don both had frozen cheap schnitzel, the katsu sauce tasted like a cheap one too.

The sushi was passable, not great though, not much flavour.

We asked for a dish called Oyaku Don. The staff didn't know what that was. At this point I realised, the staff are not Japanese, but probably Chinese.

I'll stick to my normal haunts as for the money I was much better off going elsewhere. It was expensive shopping center food...

could give it a zero star if i could, the front person tall skinny guy with glasses give me the nastiest attitude, didnt even say hello when i walked in nor say thank you and when i asked for recommendations he had no clue what to recommend me just pointed to the menu and gave me a nasty tone raising his voice saying " here menu look at it" he didnt even know what was in any of the dishes. horrible customer service, wouldnt recommend coming here theres way more better places...

I have to say this is the best sushi restaurant I tried in recent 2 years. I like sashimi very much because the fish is so fresh, I tried other sushi restaurant in this street I think their fish quality is not as good as Taiko. I went this shop 3 times in a week it is really nice!!! I don’t know why many people give some bad review because I remember the staff always ask us ' You enjoy the meal? If I order drink they always ask us 'Do you need ice? ...... Anyway I will...
