Ate here for lunch today. The wait staff were fantastic. We placed our order, and, only a couple of minutes later. the waiter came back and apologized as he had put my order in incorrectly (wrong dish) and the kitchen had already started on it. He offered to bring both the mistake dish and my original order, with the mistake being 'on the house'. Both dishes were very tasty. At the till, I tried to at least pay half of the mistake dish, as it was good. But the staff at the till wouldn't have a bar of it.
My wife and I thought the following things about this experience.
Usually there is no way that a cafe/restaurant would admit to such a mistake. They would just throw away the ingredients they had used (or, worse still, keep them warm and serve them to someone else) when the mistake was found, and not mentioned a thing about it. But, the waiter in question said he did not want to throw the ingredients away, and would rather give them to me.
The communication between all the staff was brilliant. Everyone knew about the situation and when I went to pay, there was no mention of the extra meal from them. This was very impressive.
This cafe is very busy and we could see why. The staff were brilliant, and the food was good. The manager here knows what they are doing. Do yourself a favour...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's nice to be able to review a cafe whereby no bad incidents happened. Lord knows, that's rare sometimes.
It was quite by accident/chance that we came here. I saw something on Instagram from here that took my fancy, and wouldn't you know it, when we sat down to order, I couldn't find the picture again so didn't even order that (I know; screenshot it next time).
Instead, I ordered the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon on a potato rosti, pickled red cabbage and poached eggs and Harissa hollandaise. It really was good. MAYBE if I were to be fussy, I'd say the potato rosti was just a fraction over done, but that's splitting hairs.
The staff were friendly, the food came out fast, and it was really good. They do sell little cakes and muffins etc to either eat in or take out. I must say, not all looked appealing, but there was a great variety.
Parking could be an issue at busy times. The council seem to think that by taking away parks, it "beautifies" the street. Uh, not so much. But if you go for breakfast early enough, it's a good spot. I highly recommend eating here. The breakfast is all day and there looks like a good lunch menu as well. Perhaps that's what I'll go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen living in Carnegie for 3 years and have tried to find better cafes near the suburb and we have ended up coming to this place last Thursday.
Iāve been to many cafes recently and have noticed that they no longer provide fresh house-made juices, only have store bought ones instead. This is the first a high score for this cafe as they have a JUICE OF THE DAY on their Menu.
The foods were really impressive as well. The overall presentation of the foods were simple and modest rather than showing off too much but still appealed its quality. Every single dish we tried on last Thursday and today was flavoursome and very delicious and nothing was salty or strong while balancing good flavours and texture.
I really loved the Quinoa Salad on my first visit but today I had a Pasta of the day which was pesto cream based and it was sensational
We will be going back next week to try some more foods but it wouldnāt be easy to decide what to have.. Almost forgot to mention their coffee. Their soy-flat white was excellent. Their soy-magic was the best magic that Iāve ever had! (Lots of cafe make a magic like a three quarter fullā¦.or make a three quarter full like a normal strong...
