If you're craving authentic Thai flavours that transport you straight to the bustling streets of Bangkok or the serene beaches of Phuket, look no further than Thai Beach House in Rosebud, Victoria. From the first bite to the last sip, every dish and drink was an explosion of traditional taste and vibrant aromas, making it one of the best Thai dining experiences we’ve had outside of Thailand itself.
Pad Kee Mao: The Pad Kee Mao was an absolute standout—a fiery, fragrant stir-fry that balanced bold spices, fresh herbs, and smoky wok hey to perfection. The wide rice noodles had that ideal chewy texture, soaking up the rich sauce infused with garlic, Thai basil, and just the right kick of chili. Every bite was a harmony of sweet, spicy, and umami, leaving us craving more. If you love authentic Thai street food, this dish is a must-try!
Tom Yum Fried Rice: This dish took all the tangy, aromatic, and spicy elements of classic Tom Yum—lemongrass, kaffir lime, galangal, and chili—and transformed them into an incredibly addictive fried rice. The chicken were plump and juicy, while the rice was perfectly fluffy, absorbing all those bright, citrusy, and herbal notes. It was like a party in our mouths—absolutely delicious.
Purple Sunset Cocktail: To complement the meal, we sipped on the Purple Sunset, a stunning cocktail that tasted as good as it looked. A refreshing blend of fruity, floral, and slightly tart flavours, it was the perfect balance of sweetness and sophistication. Whether you’re winding down after a meal or just want a tropical drink to start your evening, this cocktail is a must-order.
What truly sets Thai Beach House apart is their commitment to authentic Thai cooking. The flavours are bold, fresh, and unapologetically traditional, just like you’d find in Thailand. The service was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall vibrant and inviting atmosphere. This restaurant is a true hidden gem, makes me sad to expose it. But, we will definitely be coming back to explore more...
Read moreIn general the food we had was tasty - though our experience here wasn’t 100% when it came to the service. We understand that serving large groups can be stressful, but ultimately we felt that the staff took out their stress and frustration out on us which prevented us from having a good time. We booked a table for 16 people – when we arrived we could already tell that the wait staff were a bit stressed about having us there. They insisted we said 15 people on the phone when we clearly said 16 people, which didn’t make a difference because the table was already set for 16 people. That wasn’t exactly the warm welcome we were hoping for. We tried to be as easy to deal with as possible by having just one of us give the wait staff our order for the whole group rather than them having to go around the table. We placed our orders for entrees and mains first and were about to place a drinks order but they asked us to “wait for a bit” – which we did but after 20mins they appeared to have forgotten about our drinks, so we had to chase up again. A lot of us were looking forward to Thai milk tea only to be told that they had run out. A couple of times the wait staff almost snapped back at us in their responses when we asked legitimate questions about some of the items on the menu or asked them to place some of the dishes more evenly across the table. As part of our entrée we ordered four serves of the king prawns. Apparently there were only 2 left, but instead asking what we’d prefer instead, they just substituted that with more serves of the veg spring rolls without telling us, and then forgot to update that in our bill. If given the choice we would have ordered something else instead. This place has a lot of potential and we want to see local businesses do well, so we hope you take this on as...
Read moreWe went in for an early dinner on Monday, when a lot of other restaurants were closed (an extra brownie point for that 😃). The place looks really nice, I think it was newly painted/decorated. The staff were very friendly and genuinely hospitable. For instance, we had requested for a classic coke at room temperature, which was served to us in a can. We changed our mind and asked for chilled instead. We then asked for a glass to pour it into. The glass was brought with ice(well that's how people generally drink), we then asked for it without the ice. Phew, I know, we sound like a painful customer to have, but they were so friendly and accommodating. The food was very authentic and fresh. Loved the house special lamb, a bit spicy but awesome 👍. The lychee drink, special drink of the season was very refreshing too. Well...
