5 year edit: Definitely has gone down a whole star from my previous review years ago. I went there once many months ago at 3.30-4pm, ordered a noodle soup, had to wait for 40 minutes before I gestured to the waiters who were sat near the kitchen, doing some food prep, to come over as i wanted to have a chat where my food was at. He completely forgot to put the order in. Was not overly happy but since food was ok so didn't make a fuss about it. A bit traumatic. I did go there to give another go and ordered a different noodle, it was actually really good. The food came out quickly, service was their usual swift and no nonsense kind, and the soup was delicious. I decided to try again recently hoping that it was going to be fine. Was there around 3.30-4pm again. Ordered their house Broken rice. It took around 20mins, this time they didn't forget, but just super slow (compared to their previous standard). When it came, i poked the rice in the middle to 'fluff' it, it was so hard (the consistency of rice being cooked multiple times in the microwave to a point it just so damn overcooked). Prawn was like rubber (flavour is there though). The meatloaf did not taste so fresh. The egg was the bit that worried me the most as it did have a really weird smell. The rest of the components were good (pork chop, the shredded pork, fish cake tofu). I should have sent it back the moment i fluffed that broken rice in the middle, but was really rushing then, so couldn't be bothered. I mean the flavour is still good but talk about the decline in standard. Kinda sad, I used to love eating ...
Read moreRacist, rude and unprofessional management. We went here for my partner's birthday recently. Two dishes from our order (vietnamese pancake & spring rolls) come with a plate of fresh vegetables and herbs. Our entire table was surprised that we were only brought iceberg lettuce, instead of the usual variety of Asian greens to pair with the pancake and spring rolls. We mentioned to the waiter that everyone else we saw in the restaurant had Asian greens, and he then brought us what they had. The shock came when I paid and put a tip in their tip jar. Afterwards, I read the receipt and noticed we were charged for extra vegetables. When I asked the manager why we were charged, he said that we were given extra, which was true, but I thought that they made a mistake by initially only giving us iceberg lettuce. I inquired and was told that "whites" are only given iceberg lettuce as "they" don't like other vegetables. When I mentioned that there was a South East Asian on our table and that just because I'm white doesn't mean I don't want the usual selection of fresh vegetable he said "you're the first white to ever complain", and refused to refund the extra $4, so I removed my tip from the tip jar and we will never return after this treatment and blatant prejudice. Avoid. Head next door for tastier vietnamese, and...
Read moreCOCKROACH IN FOOD -
Ordered a bun no hue (Vietnamese spicy noodle soup) and found a huge dead COCKROACH in the soup while I was half way eating. Alerted waiter and he just took away the bowl without a word (I thought he was going to raise it with the manager or owner). He came back out from the kitchen moment later and went on cleaning and serving other table. There was no apology, no acknowledgement nor offer for another dish etc (not that I would after learning their food hygiene). We were later charged with the full amount, I told the cashier there was a cockroach in my food and refused to pay the full amount. She spoke to the waiter in their language and just took the noodle out of the total bill and went on serving the next customer. Again no apology or even eye contact from the cashier, they were so calm and proficient throughout the whole process it made me wonder if they have experienced the same thing before. This is my first negative review on Google I feel the need to post this so that people can think twice before stepping into this restaurant, or at least watch out for cockroaches when having their next bowl of soup...
