The Cheesecake Shop Camberwell - Middle — Restaurant in Melbourne

I came here at 10am Sunday 12/03 (opening time) to buy a cake, only to find the store shut. I thought that’s fine people run late all the time. So I waited in my car another 10 mins. As I was walking back to my car, I noticed a black car with green P plates was parked out the front, with two young people sitting in the car. I thought nothing of it. After sitting in my car for 15 mins, I walked back to the shop at 10:15 only to find the shop still closed. The black car still parked directly at the front of the shop with the 2 people in it looking at me this time. Still thought nothing of it. I was frustrated at this stage and really needed a cake for an event that day. So I googled the next closest one to me which was the Box Hill one, so I decided to drive there. As I pulled out of the car park and drove past the shop (about 10:20am now) a young woman comes out of the parked black vehicle and opens the shop!!! This sales person saw me waiting around and did not bother to open the store. Was too busy hanging with her friend while a customer waited around past the advertised open time. Full cake of Marble baked, Wild strawberry cheesecakes, Coffee Pecan Torte and Tropical Torte were popular during office events. Caramel glazed mudcake and the Rainbow Cake were a hit for special birthdays! Then we also tried the cup cakes and cake pops which were delicious treats with a cuppa or two! The best part is having a slice or quarter cuts which is a good way to have small pieces of everything for the curious tastebuds. So if you have an unexpected event or just don’t want to turn up empty handed and tired of the boxes of chocolates, go and pop in one of the Cheesecake Shops or my favourite in Middle Camberwell. But why only 4 stars? Well, we tried a quarter of the Flaked chocolate continental cheesecake and quad choc bake and it didn’t quite hit the top of the chart in my household. Terrible customer service. Ordered and paid for custom writing on my daughter's birthday cake, which wasn't done. When I rang to query this, they made absolutely no effort to rectify this and made no effort to refund (they said they couldn't refund this service!) Absolutely awful ordering experience, especially on a birthday. Will not be ordering from here again, nor will my family or my business colleagues.

What would be helpful is that instead of a perfunctory, useless response from the owner 'please contact as to discuss' - if you contact ME to follow this up - as I phoned your store, and you didn't really give a damn. Just beyond abysmal service. Encourage all potential customers to go elsewhere - there are plenty of better cakes stores in Camberwell/Balwyn, with much better...
