I love Greek food. Here in Melbourne, where it is said there are the most Greeks living outside of Athens and outside of Greece, Greek restaurants are in abundance. But amongst the many ones I've tried, I keep coming back here (and it's a good 30-40 minute drive for me) because the food is so good. The pita bread here is probably the best I've had ANYWHERE. I love it. I also love the tarama that goes with it. It is just heavenly. Their whitebait is beautiful and their chicken ribs are marinated in exquisite deliciousness. The service is usually really good, and prices are reasonable. There is plenty of street parking around, and you will need to book in advance if you want to eat here on a weekend for sure. The interior is nice, the music is authentic and it's clean and comfortable, though sometimes it can be a bit cramped inside. It can get noisy too, but it doesn't deter me. I highly recommend The Greek Spot if you're looking for a delicious meal. It really is fantastic!

My Wife and I have been going to the Greek Spot for more than 30 years. We now live near New York so can only visit when we are in Melbourne and when that happens we visist as often as possible. The food is always outstanding and Helen and the boys are fastastic. We had two weeks in Athens and the Greek Islands last year and the food at the Greek Spot wins hands down. Don't go to the Greek Islands for octopus (see picture) just see Helen at The Greek Spot in Burwood Road ! [Richard C]

Had a fantastic dining experience here. The food and service were both top-notch. The pita bread and saganaki were absolute standouts—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The meat dishes were rich and satisfying, while the octopus, though slightly chewy, had a lovely depth of flavor. Staff were warm and welcoming throughout. Highly recommend!

Simple and honest Greek food done to perfection! Like other reviewers, we too have been coming here for over 30 years as our favourite Greek restaurant, as have many other locals who know this place. Same owners (Helen and Chris) for all these years serve beautifully cooked Greek food, with their specialty being meats and seafood roasted over a grill fired up by Mallee roots that Chris and his team prepare. He only picks the best and freshest seafood, so check the specials for the day. Best to go there with a group of people so you can order and share a variety of the great food they have on offer. Helen (working at the front of house) will guide you with ordering a well rounded meal for your group. You will also be pleasantly surprised by some of the Greek wines they have on offer, a curated selection that would make any Greek proud of their strong wine making history. I have been too many Greek restaurants in Melbourne, this one would certainly be in the top few that you should put on your list, my sentiments backed up by my many Greek friends that have also gone there when a drive to Oakleigh is a bit too far from this...

Quite simply the best Greek food in Melbs and Sydney!

Our friends Nicki and Fritz have been going here for years and have always told us how amazing it is. Well, we went on 2nd January and it was absolutely packed - and now we now why.

Elena warmly welcomed us and also helped us with our allergies (gluten free and fodmap) which was outstanding and so helpful.

We had the octopus which was perfectly cooked and so delicate plus the saganaki (perfectly cooked and a generous serve). Two of us had the blue eye fillet, one lamb gyros served with chips and lettuce and one calamari (tender and delicious). Naturally we also got a Greek salad which was very tasty – lots of feta, olive oil, tomato, lettuce. We had fully bellies but you can't go past the homemade baklava - it is seriously the BEST baklava I’ve ever tasted with the perfect balance of flavour, sweetness and moistness. BYO...
