During the consultation, we had agreed that my hair was very delicate as it had been bleached from dark brown to platinum blonde for a whole year. I was only getting my roots done and I let them know that if platinum blonde was too dangerous to achieve (due to overlapping of bleach), that I was happy to go for a pink as the hair can still have brass in it. They seemed to know what they were doing and they kept saying my hair was very delicate but they would definitely try to match my platinum ends.
There were a number of things that went horribly wrong that resulted in 3/4 of my hair becoming fried (even more than it already was).
There were two people who bleached my hair for me. One was Oscar and another was a girl who didnāt seem to know anything about careful handling of bleached hair. My hair was unevenly bleached from the 1st til the 3rd bleach as it was being done by two different people. Oscar kept leaving the girl to do my whole hair while he cut other peopleās hair. I truly believed that they used 40 vol on my hair as my scalp was burning during the second and third bleach. I kept spotting the girl carelessly overlapping and I knew that I wasnāt gonna leave happy. She seemed like she was rushing and didnāt bother to section my hair and just took chunks at a time. My hair is always normally dried with a towel after bleaching by lightly dabbing the hair. However, this girl was very rough with my hair rubbing it aggressively. She also did not use shampoo after the second bleach and just used water on me.
I came to this place as it was recommended to me and I trusted it because the ratings were so high. I would never come back again. I was very angry the next day as I had discovered that my scalp got burned and found 3 blisters on my scalp. It hurt to even touch it for a good two weeks. I went in with normal hair and left with a front fringe as so much of my hair was broken off. Three days after, I washed my hair and realised how my hair had been so fried from the girl massaging the bleach to my ends which I specifically asked for them not to do. I ended up putting pink in it so it didn't look too dead but eventually I had to cut it off because it was like straw.
I also messaged the place and I was not offered any compensation. I got an apology which I appreciate but all Oscar said was that he would talk to the girl. Very poor communication between the two and I hope nobody else has to lose most of their hair because of the same...

So my husband and I had very disappointing experiences at this salon last Friday. As we're fairly new to Australia, my husband decided to try this place and clearly explained the hairstyle he wanted to Oscar, it was supposed to be at least 3 fingers tall. However, it ended up being just 1.5 fingers tall, far from what he requested. It seemed like the person cutting (who appeared to be the owner) didnāt pay attention to the instructions at all, which left my husband really disappointed.
Despite clearly explaining my desired hairstyle and specifically requesting the length I want, the man with the spectacle was in a rush due to other waiting customers. He was cutting carelessly & not checking in, not seeking confirmation, and not even observing how the haircut was turning out (too short than asked for). It felt rushed and unprofessional, and I left feeling completely unheard and dissatisfied.
I would not recommend anyone to come to this salon. Please do not go or you will likely be very disappointed and, in the end, extremely unhappy with the service. Itās better to spend a little more money elsewhere and receive the quality and attention you truly deserve.

For a standard haircut, this is easily the cheapest option around - by far - despite being situated in an area that is normally very expensive. For this, you still get a wash and personalised cut, and the staff are very accomodating at altering the haircut to the desired style. I once asked for the entire fading to go down an additional number, from 2 to 1, after it was complete, and the staff were more than happy to shave the whole thing a second time.
The business is always tidy with comfortable waiting area, and lots of natural light, certainly sufficient for what I need.
You rarely have to wait long when coming in. The longest i've waited to be served before is 15 minutes, and normally much quicker. This is perfect for spontaneous visits, and guarantees that I won't have to make two visits. They put a premium at serving customers, of course as part of their pricing strategy, but this is an added benefit for me. I don't want a 1 hour haircut with a 30 minute wait time. I want quick, clean, tidy and friendly service which I get habitually from Cocoa Hair Bar.
