Very disappointed with our experience last night. We have been here before a bunch of times and decided to book for my birthday yesterday with another couple to enjoy a dinner and drinks. We arrived and were greeted lovely at reception. Told to go up them stairs pointed at and we would be assisted from there went upstairs and an employee pointed at our table said that's where were sitting on the rooftop first of all it was very windy yesterday so was pretty chilly upstairs on the roof we let that go anyways then we ordered our starter and drinks through the app. Our starters arrived no sign of drinks so my partner had went upto the bar to ask about our drinks she then said oh did you order through the app your not meant to if your up here your meant to come to the bar which we were never told so then we sit back down waiting for some cutlery which never came so got up again to ask for cutlery which then was given we ate our starters with no drinks finished starters still no drinks so back up again after 20 minutes to see if our drinks were coming at this stage I was upset. So went to see the manager to rectify the issues he just said relax and don't get upset we'll give you a round of drinks and desserts on us at 8pm which is not what we wanted we just wanted the staff to be spoken to and maybe to perk up and use their common sense. Read moreBeen here twice now. The first was a pretty bad experience with the kitchen losing my order not once, not twice, but three times. Eventually I gave up and went home hungry. At least the server felt so bad he gave me a free pint, but still, after 2 hours and the rest of my party had all eaten, it was pretty shocking.
So I thought I'd give the place another try as that was possibly just an off night, always good to give a place a second chance! And again, they disappointed - though at least I got my food this time! Getting a seat was okay, but it took ages for the waitress to come and take a drinks order. 15 minutes later still no drinks and the table next to us who arrived later already had theirs. She came over, saw we had no drinks and finally rushed them out to us. And it was only as she saw we had no drinks that we finally had a chance to actually order dinner, if she didn't see that then she probably would have left us waiting another 15 minutes to order food... So the food came out in a timely manner, and it was okay, just okay. I ordered a Hawaiian Parma, and the chicken was ridiculously dry, it was a little difficult to eat. Worse, there was no ketchup with the chips, so I couldn't even drown the chicken in sauce to make it a little less dry. The taste itself was good, the chips as well were nice, but that chicken... seriously the driest I've ever had. So overall 3 stars. Ten minutes later, a waitress came over and very, very rudely told us we needed to show her proof of purchase/a receipt to prove we had actually placed an order and paid. Luckily I had screenshots of the order number. She told us we had the wrong order (it was the same food another table had ordered apparently, not sure how we were meant to know that) that wasn't meant to be given to us. She said it should've been common courtesy of us to have confirmed the food was ours when it had arrived..? As mentioned, they were the exact items we'd purchased, so we weren't to know it was a mistake. I more than understand that errors occur, but to place blame on the customer who actually hasn't done anything wrong and then to imply they haven't paid and are trying to steal is ridiculous. I've never felt so embarrassed in my life. She was confrontational and was getting incredibly aggressive; other customers were even looking over at her accusing us of not paying which was mortifying. I'm not going to mention her by name so they can't remove this review, but she was blonde and seemed to be the manager, based on her interactions with other staff (who were all lovely).
