I ordered the wednesday wagyu special and qas charged $60. The steat was cooked perfectly but was the worst steak i have ever eaten. It was chewy and flavourless... i waited for minutes for someone to come to me then told them and they said the chef would come see me. I waited another 20 minutes and nothing. I proceeded to get up and walk to the bar to ask where to pay and let them know what happened.. they asked qhat they could do.. i told them i was still hungry due to only eating the salad on the plate. They gave me a glass of wine and charged me full price. Due to feeling embarrassed i paid and retreated to my hotel room. I am an accor gold member and was not eligible for my 25% discount due to it being a weekly special. I stay and sravel here for work from sydney and have dined here twice now and recieved very average quality food and good service for the first 5 minutes. I will never dine here again and i will never reccomend this resturant to anyone. I have never wasted a steak especially wagyu.. it was so chewy my jaw couldnt take anymore. The staff couldn't be any worse at dealing with a problem and i felt so embarrassed that i had to leave....

The menu at this place has changed since the favourable reviews! It is now an Italian-inspired menu without the proper pizza oven or knowledge of traditional Italian food.

The steak was enjoyable but the entrees were not good - cheap olives served warm in a bowl of liquid (??) and what seemed like mini potato cakes with sour cream and sweet chili sauce (??). The pizza was cheap and huge but also cheaply made and not very Italian at all. It seems as though they are catering half to the hotel guests and half to the students living in the Co-Living section of the property. Not much direction as to what this restaurant is trying to do.

Worst of all, we were slapped with a 10% service fee at the end (on top of a 10% public holiday surcharge, which we didn't mind). That's over $17 as a compulsory 'tip' that I'm quite sure went straight to the business and not to the staff. The service was good (it was a very quiet night!) and we would have tipped accordingly but I do not expect to be charged an extra 10% as standard! This is not a trendy restaurant in Flinders Lane, this is a hotel in Preston! I would like that money...

What a fantastic dining delight at The Stampton @ the Novotel Preston Victoria.

A wonderful local dining experience, prepared and cooked with the freshest of ingredients and by a team of awesome chefs led by the most passionate executive chef Mr Praveen.

The scotch fillet cooked over a charcoal grill to absolute perfection as requested. Highly recommend the entrees and mains including meatballs, huge peri peri pizza, Devine scotch fillet, roasted chicken and calamari.

Presentation was amazing along with the most welcoming and professional team including Jess, Suman and Greg.

We ended up staying the night and ended up having an awesome breakfast buffet spread in the morning.

Coming back for the first Friday of the month beer garden event with live music and to indulge in more of this fantastic menu. Highly recommend to all. This place is great if you have friends or family visiting or to just treat yourself to casual fine dining at bistro rates. A true local dining gem. Thanks team...

The food here is great and the atmosphere is nice. The seafood platter had lots of variety and fresh seafood (and salad) with great flavours - comes complete with lemon and sauce. We tried the grilled prawn linguini and confit duck leg mains from the new menu - the linguine is light and spicy, prawn was cooked perfectly and bit over al dente which I don't mind. Duck had great flavours and would have liked it with potato to soak up the tasty sauce. The burnt basqur cheesecake was not too heavy and with lovely rhubarb - a great finish to the night.
