I really, really have tried to give this place a go. They have great coffee, but every time I go I have feel extremely unwelcome by the staff which is a disappointment. Firstly the complete absence of acknowledgment on arrival. A simple “Hi” or “Be with you in a moment” would be nice. I don’t know if it was my lack of caucasoid in my complexion. Today I had never been more alienated. I was clearly the next customer, the waiter completely ignored me and acknowledged the customer behind me. I proceeded inside where I “checked in” and waited for acknowledgement… Nothing... Waited by the register for the next server… I literally had to drive the entire transaction. I was not asked what I wanted, I literally got a look as if I was an alien. I DON’T CARE HOW BUSY YOU ARE! ALWAYS MAKE THE CUSTOMER FEEL WELCOME! Read moreThis cafe is absolutely delightful! I had noticed the adorable cat painted by the door months ago in a winter ride to the pool, and mentally noted that I needed to check it out sometime. Today is that day. Thomson Street has been a great place to spend an hour transcribing study notes. It has a warm vibe with chill background music, and genuinely friendly staff greeting regulars and new-comers with so much warmth. Unfortunately the last couple of times I have been it’s like you are bothering certain staff members by being there or asking a question - they speak to you rudely and in a cold tone as if they can’t be bothered to serve you.
