Pop Lab Popcorn Store Fairfield — Local services in Melbourne

I’d heard a few people talking about this place so we checked in to see what it was like, and wow it did not disappoint. It’s on the main strip in Fairfield right near the train line so it was super easy to find. Was thinking I’d only buy a small bit of popcorn but walked away with the pecan caramel, salted caramel, dill pickle, flaming hot and sour grape - they’re so moreish! Couldn’t figure out which one I liked best so I got all of them. Usually I’m a savoury over sweet person but it wasn’t too sweet. I was curious about the sour flavours but it wasn’t overwhelming like a warhead but you got that perfect tartness. Also the flaming hot (I like spicy things) was a nice hot hum that builds as you eat it so I’m going to enjoy that later with a beer. Kate the owner was super lovely let us try all the sweet and savoury varieties so we could choose which ones we liked best. It was pretty busy but we felt pretty special being given all kinds to taste test. There’s heaps of American candy and old school Aussie candy that I haven’t seen for ages there as well so it was hard not to go down memory lane. Fun for kids, fun for us big kids. Loved it, will absolutely come back...

So popcorn has never been my first go to for snacks... until NOW!

With an upcoming event to organise I was looking for something fun and edgy. I had heard from a good friend she had recently tried this companies incredible edible popcorn flavours. After chatting with the owner Kate though Instagram it didn’t take much persuasion.

I was sold, and had to have their product at our function.

Pop Lab popcorn is a such delightful and innovative addition to the sweets and savory snack market. They offer such a huge variety of flavours it’s almost impossible to choose. The fact that there are options for those who like sweet, savoury and crazy flavours in between like Dill Pickle, Pavlova and Mint slice.

They offered a branding service so each packet had our personalised message on it. Highlighting the amazing customer service from start to finish made them a pleasure to deal with. I have never actually been into the physical store but now that we have the taste of their offerings we can’t wait to go down and try more...

I’ve driven past this place several times and always thought to myself I should check it out. Today I did just that on a whim and I’m glad I did! The amount of flavours to choose from was almost overwhelming, so I asked the lovely person at the counter what their favourite popcorn was. They recommended Dill Pickle and offered me a sample, and it was an excellent choice. I was told the owner is from Texas, and as an expat from Texas myself, I was also delighted to see such nostalgic American flavours like Snickerdoodle, as well as a soda bar with malts and ice cream floats. I took home a small bag of both the Dill Pickle and Snickerdoodle popcorns and they are both fantastic. I only wish the bags were resealable but I don’t think they’re going to last long anyway! I’m definitely coming back again to try all the different popcorn flavours - and I’ll absolutely be picking up a malt...
